Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer continues to keep pace with Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom in the race for the most authoritarian governor in America.

In addition to her draconian lockdowns, Whitmer has now mandated that children between the ages of 2-4 wear masks, and on a separate occasion was exposed for lying about traveling to visit Florida to see her father while simultaneously telling Michiganders they shouldn’t travel.

A classic example of rules for thee but not for me.

Fox News reported, “Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer lied about not traveling out of state in a podcast interview last week, saying she was “here in town the whole time.”

Whitmer admitted earlier this week that she traveled to Florida in March, despite cautioning Michigan residents against traveling out of state.

Last week, Whitmer joined the Michigan publication MIRS on their podcast, where she was asked by reporter Kyle Melinn if she was able to take any days off for spring break or over the past year amid the COVID-19 pandemic…

Whitmer previously responded to criticisms of her travels to the Sunshine State, saying that she was not vacationing in Florida and was checking in on her ill father…

“It was certainly not spring break,” Whitmer added.

And then there is the tyrannical order to force children between the ages of 2-4 to wear masks.

The Detroit News reported, “Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration is expanding a requirement to children as young as 2 years old that residents wear masks during gatherings under a new epidemic order unveiled Friday.

Whitmer’s executive orders have gone too far, and even the Michigan Supreme Court agrees.

Last year, Fox News reported, “Republican state legislators in Michigan have Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in their sights as they call for investigations into the governor’s handling of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities during the coronavirus pandemic.”

The Michigan State Supreme Court struck down her illegal executive orders, ruling that they are now null and void. The court ruled that any emergency order issued after April 30, 2020 is no longer valid because Governor Whitmer failed to work with the Michigan State Legislator to pass new legislation that would carry legal weight.

There is this thing called “checks and balances” in our government, but apparently, Whitmer must have been sick on the day it was taught to her class in elementary school—that, or she simply doesn’t care (my bet’s on the latter).

Lawmakers who sought to impeach Whitmer pointed out that COVID-19 infections and deaths in the Wolverine State ‘had soared at the time and Whitmer’s administration had ‘been questioned about unintended consequences of her policies.

The legislators also called attention to ‘discrepancies’ in cases and death data ‘in the state’s long-term care facilities.’

‘It has now come to our attention that these reporting errors have likely not been resolved,’ the Republicans charged.

‘Gov. Whitmer’s regional hub policy put patients with and without COVID-19 in the same facilities and may have exacerbated the death toll in those facilities,’ they added.”

In the race to be the most tyrannical governor, Gretchen Whitmer is in the same league as Gavin Newsom and Andrew Cuomo…and that is not good company to keep.
