America has arrived at the day where sick patients who could die without life-saving surgeries are being denied treatment because of their vaccination status.

Leilani Lutali, a resident of Colorado who has stage-5 renal failure, was told by her hospital that she could not receive a kidney transplant until she gets the Covid-19 vaccine, Fox News reported.

Lutali told the outlet that the hospital previously informed her she would not need the vaccine, only for them to do a bait-and-switch and require that she be vaccinated prior to surgery.

“I had a myriad of emotions, from to confusion to dismay, having been told a month before that I wouldn’t be required to take that shot and then fast-forward a month later now I told something different, then I was a month earlier. It left me with a feeling of now what?” Lutali told Fox News’ Todd Piro.

University of Colorado Hospital sent a letter to Lutali on Sept. 28 stating that it has changed her kidney transplant waiting status to “inactive…for non-compliance by not receiving the COVID vaccine.”

“You will have 30 days to begin the vaccination series,” wrote the kidney transplant coordinator. “If your decision is to refuse COVID vaccination you will be removed from the kidney transplant list.”

Lutali’s kidney donor, Jaimee Fougner—who is also unvaccinated—condemned the hospital’s “death sentence” to her friend.

“I have no idea why they would do this. I’m in the medical field and our first job is to be compassionate to our patients and to involve them in their care, and choices they have for their health care,” she said referring to the Hippocratic Oath doctors take.

“I feel like that choice has been taken from Leilani and she has been given a death sentence from the hospital,” Fougner said, according to Fox.

The hospital’s disgusting violation of human rights should outrage everyone, vaccinated and unvaccinated alike, that some Americans could lose their lives over not getting the Covid-19 vaccine.
