Leading RINO swamp rat Mitch McConnell spent four years pretending to be friendly with former President Trump.

But now that Trump is no longer president, the Senate Minority Leader is abandoning the former president. In response, Trump is fighting back in classic Trump fashion. Donald Trump doesn’t suffer fools lightly.

As recently as last year, McConnell never missed a chance to stroke Trump’s ego and pretend they were best buds. Sure, the former majority leader was able to push through nearly 300 conservative-leaning judges and three Supreme Court justices during their partnership, but it didn’t take a genius to do that given the fact that the Republicans had the majority in the Senate.

Putting that aside, McConnell rode Trump’s coattails to a Senate majority but now that Trump has left the political stage—briefly—McConnell is disavowing Trump. This should come as no surprise to anyone who has followed his career.

McConnell has always been a swamp fossil and he IS the establishment, whereas Trump was elected to fight establishment figures like him.

Following the vote on the Senate floor to acquit former President Trump, McConnell brutally attacked Trump by saying: “There’s no question… that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day. The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president. And having that belief was a foreseeable consequence of the growing crescendo of false statements, conspiracy theories, and reckless hyperbole which the defeated president kept shouting into the largest megaphone on planet Earth.”

Not one to take a personal insult laying down, Trump fired back and shredded Mitch McConnell in a statement released by his PAC, “Save America.” And it was glorious.

Trumps wrote the following:

“The Republican Party can never again be respected or strong with political ‘leaders’ like Sen. Mitch McConnell at its helm. McConnell’s dedication to business as usual, status quo policies, together with his lack of political insight, wisdom, skill, and personality, has rapidly driven him from Majority Leader to Minority Leader, and it will only get worse. The Democrats and Chuck Schumer play McConnell like a fiddle—they’ve never had it so good—and they want to keep it that way! We know our America First agenda is a winner, not McConnell’s Beltway First agenda or Biden’s America Last. In 2020, I received the most votes of any sitting President…

Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again.”

Oh, man, the gloves are off now. It’s Cocaine Mitch vs. The Orange-Man for the future of the Republican party.

The battle over the future direction of the Republican party is heating up. We can either go back to the lame surrender days of the McConnell-Bush era, or we can stay the course of the Trump “America First” era.

What’s it going to be, GOP?

If I were a betting man, I would put my money on the fighter who earned 74 million votes…but that’s just me.

This is a prizefight with serious implications for the future of not only the Republican party but the nation as a whole.

But one thing is for sure: round one goes to Trump. Will the ongoing fight turn into a TKO?

Stay tuned…
