Have you ever heard of a compliment sandwich?

It’s one of the new-age terms for how you should give somebody criticism, whether constructive or otherwise. Basically, it consists of giving them a compliment, then the criticism, then another compliment…

It’s supposed to ease the blow – but it rarely does.

I’ve given and RECEIVED my fair share of compliment sandwiches…

Not that I’m an expert, but what I DO know is that if you don’t follow the criticism up with another compliment, it’s less of a compliment sandwich and more of an open-faced s**t sandwich…

And it seems that DNC presidential hopeful Kamala Harris may be chomping on one as we speak.

Harris has been slipping lately…

She’s been losing ground ever since Tulsi Gabbard called her out for her track record as the Attorney General of California and her treatment of low-level offenders.

Tulsi took her down and Harris really hasn’t recovered…

She lost a lot of ground afterward and in order to try and gain it back, she had to “restructure” her campaign to focus its efforts on the task at hand—winning in Iowa.

The Beginning Of The End

She’s laid off DOZENS of staff members and transferred others…

And just when it seemed like she may be gaining some solid footing once again, she was dealt another blow.

Losing campaign staffers happens all the time. The job, by its very nature, is short-lived…

People come and go at a pretty steady pace—however, there are some people that are key members that make the clockworks, well… work.

And Harris just lost one of those key individuals.

Harris’ State Operations Director, Kelly Mehlenbacher, just resigned from her position. Again, these things happen all the time…

But it was the way that Mehlenbacher chose to do leave that really took a lot of people by surprise.

Remember that compliment sandwich?

Well, it seemed like Mehlenbacher was going for that compliment sandwich with the way she began her letter…

But from the very beginning, it just kept getting worse.

A Scathing Look Inside Harris’ Campaign

She started with the standard niceties and even went so far as to say, “While I still believe that Senator Harris is the strongest candidate to win in the General Election in 2020…” – which is interesting, seeing as Mehlenbacher is leaving Harris for newly-entered candidate Michael Bloomberg and his team.

However…

It was after this “strongest candidate” line that things took a turn for the scathing.

Because as the line continues, you get a better picture, “While I still believe that Senator Harris is the strongest candidate to win in the General Election in 2020, I no longer have confidence in our campaign or its leadership. The treatment of our staff over the last two weeks was the final straw in this very difficult decision.”

Actually…

When you really look at it, Mehlenbacher wasn’t going for a compliment sandwich – she actually went for the OPPOSITE. The “strongest candidate” line actually came AFTER this little gem of a line…

“This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly.”

Apparently, Mehlenbacher took umbrage to the fact that Harris had people transferred from one place to another – only to “lay them off” when they got there without notice.

Or…

This opportunistic Liberal could see the writing on the wall and decided to jump ship like any other rat would when the water comes rushing in.

However…

This letter, while a shot at the people Harris has running her campaign, the truth is – the way the campaign is run reflects upon Harris herself.

If she can’t run a campaign…

How can she run the country?

Hopefully, this is the FINAL nail in the coffin of the Harris campaign. She’s had more than enough chances to try and get back to the front…

But it’s clear she’s at the end of her rope.

And we say…

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
