Who knew Bill Nye the Science Guy was so angry?

In a quasi-comedic turn on the incredibly left-leaning Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, America’s favorite fake scientist rants about how climate change is going to kill us all.

The sketch starts with Bill saying he’s got an experiment for us. He begins the way he always begins, saying, “Safety glasses on”…

Anybody who has even a sense of nostalgia will get a kick out that…

But before you get to caught up going down Memory Lane, it’s important to keep in mind that this isn’t your kid’s Science Guy…

This is ANGRY Bill Nye.

He’s been touting climate change for a while now — with not many people paying attention — so he’s decided to switch tactics and let that anger out under the guise of comedy.

After putting on the safety glasses — Bill begins his rant.

The Experiment of Climate Change

“By the end of this century, if emissions keep rising, the average temperature on Earth could go up another four to eight degrees. What I’m saying is the planet’s on f**king fire.”

And with that Bill takes a hand torch to a globe that’s next to him — and it ignites into a ball of fire. Also on the table are items to put out the fire — an extinguisher, a bucket of sand and a blanket…

It’s a great visual, but vulgar Bill Nye doesn’t stop there, saying “There are a lot of things we could do to put it out — are any of them free? No, of course not. Nothing’s free, you idiots. Grow the f**k up. You’re not children anymore. I didn’t mind explaining photosynthesis to you when you were 12. But you’re adults now, and this is an actually crisis, got it?”

Here’s the thing…

It’s supposed to be comedy.

It’s done with a laugh track behind it and everything…

But if you watch the video, you can SEE his frustration and anger about the situation spill out of him in waves — like he’s had all of this bottled up inside of him and he’s now able to let it out.

He just needed the right venue — and HBO gave it to him.

He ends it as he always ended his experiments — though with an angry twist: “Safety glasses off, motherf**kers.”

And with a dismissive wave towards the burning earth, he stomps off camera — probably to complain to somebody because he’s so angry.

How somebody who makes $35,000-plus for a personal appearance is so miserable is beyond the scope of comprehension…

But he’s angry nonetheless.

He’s an ACTOR — Not a REAL Scientist!

He’s angry that nobody is listening to him about what he feels is the “crisis” of climate change…

But why would they listen to him?

He’s an ACTOR!

He may have earned a degree in mechanical engineering…

But when it comes to science — he has no REAL credentials — other than appearing on TV for almost 30 years as our favorite bumbling Science Guy.

However…

This doesn’t change the fact that he’s not a TRUE scientist.

He may know a LOT about science — but he holds no degrees, nor does he work in the field — he does little experiments that 11-year olds have been learning for years.

He doesn’t have any real insight…

He’s an actor who came up with a character. His other character was Speed Walker — a speed-walking superhero who fights crime while following the strict code of the “International Speed-Walking Association.”

But…

His history gives him some clout.

He’s still the most prominent science guy to MANY young Americans — but he’s not real.

He’s a fake…

A phony.

Knowledgeable? Yes.

Should he be commended for fostering a love of science in many young people? Absolutely…

But he’s not a trained scientist…

Nor will he be.
