Here the media goes again, twisting conservatives’ words into false statements that were never said.
Daily Mail published an interview with Stacey Dash, a prominent actress and former Fox News commentator, who expressed regret for some of her behavior during her time working in the news industry.
But in no way did she apologize for supporting former President Trump or walk back her support for conservatism, despite what some outlets, including Daily Mail, NBC, and USA Today, are reporting.
In her interview with Daily Mail, Dash referred to the Capitol riots as “appalling and stupid,” which is part of the reason why she is choosing to quit the political arena.
“I was the angry, conservative, Black woman,” she said, but now she realizes that anger is “unsustainable and it will destroy you,” in regard to her time as a Fox News commentator.
One of the points she made during the Daily Mail interview that the media is spinning out of context is when Dash said, “There are things that I am sorry for. Things that I did say, that I should not have said them the way I said them. They were very arrogant and prideful and angry. And that’s who Stacey was, but that’s not who Stacey is now. Stacey’s someone who has compassion, empathy.”
Dash apologized for the brash comments she’s made in the past that were controversial even for conservatives.
“God has forgiven me, how dare I not forgive someone else. I don’t want to be judged, so how dare I judge anyone else. So if anyone has ever felt that way about me, like I’ve judged, that I apologize for because that’s not who I am,” she added.
Dash said because that anger was a phase in her life, and she would never work at Fox News—or for any “news network or be a news contributor.”
Daily Mail noted this comes only after Fox News parted ways with her and after she lost a congressional race in Southern California.
Here’s where the media went crazy.
Dash said, “As far as he’s concerned, [Trump] is not the president. We have a new president,” she continued, “Being a supporter of Trump has put me in some kind of box that I don’t belong in. But he’s not the president. I’m going to give the president that we have right now a chance.”
Nothing about this statement is controversial, apologetic, or asks for forgiveness from the Left. In fact, this is a sentiment many Trump supporters have found themselves agreeing with.
It’s not “distancing from Trump” to admit that Biden is the current president, or to say that she’s going to give him a chance. All Americans should root for Biden and hope that he’s not going to be the weak, far-Left Democrat conservatives predicted he would be. As much as we like to be right and dislike him, we shouldn’t hope for Biden to fail. Whether we like it or not, he is our current president which means he’s also the leader of the free world.
As for Dash’s statement on how supporting Trump has put her in a box she doesn’t belong in, that’s happened to everyone who ever supported the former president. Anyone who used to support Trump is now considered an “insurrectionist” or “domestic terrorist” by the radical Left and mainstream media.
Stacey Dash’s feelings on this matter are shared by Trump supporters everywhere after experiencing a grueling election season and unprecedented year of events leading up to the Capitol riots on January 6. It doesn’t mean she no longer supports the 45th president and the feats he accomplished during his term, it only means she is fed up and has decided politics and news isn’t for her.
