Things just don’t make sense.
When did America become a place where tyranny could force itself on citizens at the drop of a hat?
It seems 2020 is a year of a lot of firsts…
But nobody could have predicted that Americans could potentially lose their freedoms over exercising their right to their freedom of speech.
However, if what recently happened in South Dakota is any indication, it’s exactly what’s going on in the 21st Century’s United States.
Now, when you think about South Dakota, you probably think about Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, the Sturgis biker rally, or the tragedy that happened at Wounded Knee.
What you don’t think about is the tyranny of a mask mandate—especially because the state of fewer than 1 million people had a COVID-19 death count of just over 200.
But you may have to have those thoughts now because what happened to a man named Reed Bender may open a few eyes about what’s going on with our out-of-control local governments.
Tyranny In America
While attending a school board meeting for the county of Mitchell, South Dakota, Bender refused to wear a mask in defiance of the school district’s recent mandate.
When Bender refused to don a mask, the local authorities were called to remove him. He refused to leave on his own, telling the officers, “You’re going to have to drag me out.”
The officers then threatened him with a taser and then forcibly removed him from the premises.
The video of this event has now gone viral…
You can see it here:
In it, you can see the father of two being approached by the officers and asked to stand up and leave the meeting…
As they’re walking in, you can hear a meeting attendee saying, “Are you serious?”, probably in disbelief that the authorities were called in the first place.
As the officers ask Bender to get up and leave, he refuses, saying, “I know you don’t want to do it, but unfortunately, you have to follow these fool’s rules, right? Force me out. You’re going to have to drag me out.”
With a look of hesitation, on his face, the officer pleads with Bender to comply, saying, “If it’s part of their policy that you have to wear a mask while you are here, then you’ve got to wear a mask.”
Bender then addresses the school board, saying, “This is what YOU are doing. You are sowing discord in our communities at every level. It’s disgusting.”
The officers continue to try and reason with Bender, but Bender still refuses, “I get it. I get it. You’re going to have to drag me out.”
The Beginning Of The End Of American Liberty?
And so they do…or at least they attempt to. Bender towers over both cops, and he (admittedly unwisely) resists, forcing one of the officers to unholster his tazer and point it at Bender.
The crowd tries to reason with Bender, who eventually acquiesces to the officer’s requests and is led out of the room.
But did this have to happen?
Should it have happened?
Bender was more than 6 feet away from everyone else in attendance (which, according to the science, should be safe) yet was still forcibly removed for not following this government agency’s mandate.
We can’t blame the cops for doing their job…
But we can blame the school board members for abusing what little power they have in order to simply make a point.
As Bender said, it IS disgusting…
And it goes to show just how quickly we can lose our freedom over a directive to stop a disease with a 99.98% survival rate.
This government overstepping needs to stop…
This is America, and we need to start acting like it.
