In a shocking report, the New York “Slimes” reported that there actually are a large number of illegal crossings at the southern border.

Geez, you think?

Where have you been the past few months, New York Times?

If only there was a person who recognized this and declared a national emergency to end the crisis — oh wait, there is — his name is President Donald Trump.

How convenient that The New York Times waits until after the government shutdown to report on the extent of the crisis at the border.

They reported the following:

Arrests along the southern border have increased 97% since last year, the Border Patrol said, with a 434% increase in the El Paso sector, which covers the state of New Mexico and the two westernmost counties of Texas. Families, mainly from Central America, continue to arrive in ever-larger groups in remote parts of the southwest.

I thought that this was a made-up crisis on the part of President Trump?

The media hates when facts disprove their narrative.

That’s why I am not giving the New York “Slimes” too much credit. They inadvertently reported the truth. Then they spun their own story.

They wrote:

The number of migrant families crossing the southwest border has once again broken records, with unauthorized entries nearly double what they were a year ago, suggesting that the Trump administration’s aggressive policies have not discouraged new migration to the United States … a strong sign that stepped-up prosecutions, new controls on asylum and harsher detention policies have not reversed what remains a powerful lure for thousands of families fleeing violence and poverty.

There it is. Just when you think The New York Times is doing actual reporting — they slip in a jab at the Trump administration.

You have got to be kidding me!

President Trump pleaded with Democrats to fund border security — including a border wall. They refused to fund his wall.

Trump then reluctantly signed a government funding bill to reopen the government with limited funding for border security from the Democrats.

In response, the president declared a “National Emergency” at the border to procure funds to build the wall and increase other border security measures.

Trump has also tried to limit asylum seekers ability to enter the country — the courts blocked this action.

He has tried to reduce the ability of illegal aliens to enter the country through other measures — the court blocked those measures, as well.

If Trump had been allowed to implement his policies, we likely wouldn’t be having this crisis at the border.

However, we are.

Secretary of Homeland Security, Kirsten Nielson, testified in front of Congress today. She painted a grim picture of what is happening at our southern border — and it isn’t good.

Nielsen testified:

In February, we saw a 30% jump over the previous month, with agents apprehending or encountering nearly 75,000 aliens … this is an 80% increase over the same time last year. And I can report today that CBP is forecasting the problem will get even worse this spring as the weather warms up … we want to strengthen legal immigration and welcome more individuals through a merit-based system … but illegal immigration is simply spiraling out of control and threatening public safety and national security.

But there is not a crisis, folks. Nothing to worry about. The Republicans are just trying to scare us by creating a false crisis. Their real goal is to prevent immigrants from crossing — because they are racist.

That is what the media and Democrats would have you think. (They are one in the same.)

Secretary Nielsen really sounded like she doesn’t like immigrants, didn’t she?

How dare she say she wants immigrants to come in legally — that their admission into the country should be “merit” based.

There is a crisis at the southern border, no matter what the media and the Democrats say. Action needs to be taken before it gets worse. If they have their way — it will get worse.
