Man, what a bad time to be a Liberal right now, right?
Seeing as it’s the Liberal cities that have the most COVID-19 cases, most incidents of civil unrest, and more poverty, why any Liberal would want to run for office in any of the cities or states that “vote blue no matter who” is beyond comprehension.
It seems that no matter what happens, Democrat-controlled cities and states turns into a mess—and many times elected officials’ own supporters turn on them when things get rough.
There’s a reason for this…
Liberals tend to make decisions with their emotions, not their logic.
If there’s ever been a recurring trait that you can trace throughout the Left, it’s that they use their emotions to make conclusions and not their minds.
It’s why they tend to make snap decisions that wind up hurting more than helping.
One of the Leftist mayors most under fire recently has been Seattle’s Jenny Durkan—you know, the woman who told the Seattle police to stand down, letting ANTIFA and BLM take over a six-block area of the city, naming is CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) and then renaming it CHOP (Capitol Hill Organized Protest).
She said it was a “block party” kind of atmosphere before equating it to this generation’s “Summer of Love”…
But that was before all the killing started.
MURDER On Durkan’s Watch
Two black lives have been taken at the CHAZ/CHOP border, and the deaths fall directly on Durkan’s lack of leadership – yet another trait that seems to plague the entire Left.
Sort of hard to lead if you change your mind frequently and make changes to policy that work against the people under your supervision.
It seems the Left has had enough to Durkan’s inability to commit to the Far Left. She still tries to straddle the line between “centrist” and “extremist,” and they’re having none of it.
What does the Left do if they don’t think you’re doing a good enough job? They show up to your house and demand change.
Which is EXACTLY what Seattle’s Leftists did – led by one of their Leftist leaders, Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant.
A protestor at Durkan’s home has this to say: “We came down to Jenny Durkan’s mansion to bring the demands of the movement and of the families who have been impacted by police violence, uh, to her doorstep and she seems to not be able to hear our demands any other way.”
How funny is that?
Durkan, the Democrat Mayor of Seattle, who let Leftists take over six blocks of the city, who told the police to stand down, who ALLOWED them to occupy this area, apparently isn’t hearing their demands.
Which, if you’re wondering, means they’re not getting EVERY demand they’ve asked for.
They’re acting like the spoiled, petulant children they are…
And so they went to her house to DEMAND that she give them everything they want.
Too bad for them…
Mayor Durkan wasn’t home.
She was at City Hall…
And she’s ANGRY that these kids had the audacity to go to her home. In fact, she was so angry that she had to make a statement.
When The Oppressive Boot Is On Your OWN Face
From her office, “Mayor Durkan and her family are in the state program to keep their address confidential because of the death threats mostly related to her work as Seattle’s U.S. Attorney under President Obama. Instead of working to make true change, Councilmember Sawant continues to choose political stunts. Tonight she did so without regard for the safety of the Mayor and her family. The Mayor was not even home — she was working at City Hall. Seattle can and should peacefully demonstrate but should not put families and children at risk.”
The mayor suddenly cares about peacefully demonstrating when the protest shows up to her doorstep—still no word about the two lives lost in four shootings that have occurred in the CHOP zone.
And they wonder why we make fun of them and their hypocrisy.
But if you’re paying attention…
This is why they won’t win.
They turn on themselves like a wild pack of dogs. It’s disturbing how quickly it can happen.
We, as conservatives simply need to stay the course.
We’ve got truth and logic on our side.
“In liberal logic, if life is unfair then the answer is to turn more tax money over to politicians, to spend in ways that will increase their chances of getting reelected.” – Thomas Sowell
