There have been a lot of rumors traveling around the internet these days…

We’ve got murder conspiracies, Area 51 raids, and whether the World Trade Center bombing was an inside job.

You can find these conspiracies all over the place – and you don’t even need to look that hard. There are a lot of unanswered questions on the internet and the fact that a lot of those questions may never get answered allows people to “fill in the gaps” and come up with their own ideas of what “really” happened.

Some of the best conspiracies come out of the most well-guarded areas, as these places are shrouded with an air of mystery…

And there’s no place in the world—outside of Area 51, of course—that seems to have more secrecy surrounding it than Russia.

Mother Russia’s Mysterious Nature

Russia, by nature, is protective of its secrets…

Remember, these were the same guys that were trying to keep the Chernobyl disaster “in house” – something that becomes increasingly more difficult when there’s a cloud of radioactive particles threatening to cover two-thirds of Europe.

Russia just doesn’t seem very open with what goes on within its borders…

It may be a holdover from the Cold War. They just don’t want to reveal any of their weaknesses to the world – especially the United States – so they like to play things close to the vest and try to keep anything that can be perceived as “bad” under wraps.

Unfortunately, in the age of the internet and camera phones, that’s becoming harder and harder to do.

Plus, the Russian people have had a taste of freedom and are enjoying their Westernized liberties – so they’ve taken to stepping outside of their traditional silence and posting things that the state would want to keep hidden…

Especially something like an accidental nuclear missile explosion inside their border.

Recently, photos started surfacing from a “secret” town in Russia named Sarov, near the bigger city of Severodvinsk, that showed some very peculiar images…

In one of these pictures, we can see plumes of fire and smoke coming from a supposed nuclear missile engine site. Apparently, this explosion took the lives of seven Russian researchers and caused radiation to spike anywhere from 4 to 16 times higher than normal.

Two other peculiar images show Russian officials covered head to toe in radiation suits entering the facility and a couple of ambulances that were sealed with plastic, supposedly to keep out radiation.

Couple that with the fact that officials have prompted citizens in the surrounding cities to start taking iodine, which helps reduce the absorption of radiation by the thyroid gland, and it paints a very scary picture.

Russia Targets… ITSELF!

This is a REAL event!

Yes… it TRULY seems that Russia just LITERALLY bombed itself.

This is what happens when you’re working with old and unstable munitions…

And it just goes to show Russia’s ineptitude in controlling their weaponry. This wasn’t their only accident—they also had a recent explosion happen in an ammunitions depot in another part of the country killed one person and wounded 32 others.

It makes one wonder…

Does Russia TRULY still deserve to call itself a “superpower”?

Or are they resting on the reputation they built during the latter half of the 20th Century?

In fact…

It makes one wonder if Russia was EVER the “boogie man” they made themselves out to be.

They could have always been this inept…

And we just bought their lies.

Either way…

Their TRUE colors are being revealed to the world, and they’re a lot less scary with the lights on.

“The strongest human emotion is fear. It’s the essence of any good thriller that, for a little while, you believe in the boogeyman.” – John Carpenter
