Biden’s Afghanistan pullout was more than just a simple policy failure for the US.
It quickly became a danger to the free Afghans that don’t want to live under Taliban rule, a HUGE benefit to America’s enemies, and an unmitigated disaster for our nation’s reputation. We looked like chumps in front of the entire free world.
It was a massive screwup on the Biden administration’s part, and it happened on the world stage for everybody to see…including our biggest international rivals.
If you don’t think the mess was celebrated by Russia and China, then you haven’t been paying attention to global politics very long.
Our failure in Afghanistan was celebrated by these governments because not only was it a blight on America’s military record, but it also reinforced the fact that the sitting American President is incompetent and weak.
Joe Biden’s mishandling did more than just weaken our position in that region of the world; it weakened our stance as the top superpower on the planet.
While we still have the biggest military and the greatest weapons the world has ever known, without competent leadership, it’s really all for nothing—and you know who understands this better than anybody?
Russia Testing Biden’s Boundaries
Putin can smell weakness a mile away, which is why he didn’t step out of line when Trump was in the Oval Office.
However, since Biden became president, Putin’s decided to test our resolve on multiple occasions.
A few months ago, Russia amassed tens of thousands of troops at Ukraine’s border for a bout of “war games,” basically a dry run of an invasion, which Ukraine has been worried about ever since Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula back in 2014.
This gathering of troops came and went without much coverage by the mainstream media, but for those of us that were paying attention, we knew exactly what it was: Putin was testing the waters to see just how far he could push his luck with Biden in the Oval Office.
We narrowly escaped an international incident with that, finding ourselves one accidental shot away from a full-blown crisis.
However, since Putin received ZERO pushback from the White House, it seems he has taken that lack of real response as a green light to push things even further, sending us straight back to Cold War-Era tensions
Russia and Belarus, two former members of the Soviet Union, have joined forces and are running more of these “war games” that include military vehicles, equipment, and 200,000 soldiers.
In Putin’s latest slap to the face to Biden and the rest of our allies, the two countries (again, former states in the Soviet Union. I keep saying this for a reason) formally opened vast joint military drills for a week-long exercise across the territory of both countries and in the Baltic Sea.
This move has understandably alarmed some NATO countries.
The active part of the exercise, which comes at a time of heightened tensions between the West and Belarus due to the government’s crackdown on the political opposition, is a display of force that should worry the world.
Why This Team-Up Is Worrisome
And while these war games are being played as “an exercise” without a specific enemy in mind, Belarus’ chief of general staff, Major-General Viktor Gulevich, said the exercises should be a “signal” to America and the rest of the West of the “futility” of taking “a position of strength” with the two countries.
Basically, it’s a warning.
It’s two guys flexing on the beach and kicking sand in the faces of beachgoers – daring the hero lifeguard to come down from his stand and kick them out.
While Sleepy Joe has some experience as a lifeguard (remember the Corn Pop story?), as commander-in-chief, he’s been a disaster.
With Biden in the White House, you can bet this won’t be last time Putin tests his boundaries.
Is this new alliance with Belarus just a “one-off”? Or is this the start of something new, like the beginning stages of Putin “getting the band back together”?
Only time will tell.
It’s just a shame we don’t have a strong leader in the Oval Office anymore. The mean tweets were just too much for the Liberals to handle, so they traded that for a weak man who spoke politely.
Of course, I’m sure many of them would now trade those mean tweets for TRUE leadership again…at least that’s what the polls say.
Just three years to go, right?
