Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi told fellow Democratic House leaders that she would like to see President Trump go to prison.

She told her colleagues that, “I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison.”

On what basis, she doesn’t say.

The president has been charged with no crime; that doesn’t matter to Pelosi and her fellow Democrats. They are willing to use the levers of power to punish their political opponents.

Pelosi has been put in a difficult position with her caucus. There is a growing group of her caucus that wants to see President Trump impeached; they are still a minority of the caucus, but they are growing in number. She is at least smart enough to recognize the political pitfalls of impeachment. Most Americans have moved on from the Mueller investigation, and they are largely against impeachment.

That being said, she clearly hates President Trump. She would rather he go to jail than be impeached. She believes that by beating him at the ballot box, Trump would be able to be tried for his so-called crimes and sent to prison. It is more a personal decision rather than solely a political calculation on her part.

Don’t let her fool you: She wants to see the president punished.

That is despite there being no basis for such a conviction other than partisan hatred.

What Speaker Pelosi Told House Dems About Trump Impeachment Prospects

Politico reported about the closed-door meeting she had with House Democratic leaders:

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi told senior Democrats that she’d like to see President Donald Trump in prison as she clashed with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler in a meeting on Tuesday night over whether to launch impeachment proceedings.”

Of course, Jerry Nadler wants nothing more in life than to see President Trump impeached; he is salivating at the prospect. He is going to turn his committee into a venue for a show trial, not an honest investigation meant to uncover facts. He is the director who is directing from a script that already has a predetermined ending.

The report continued: “Nadler pressed Pelosi to allow his committee to launch an impeachment inquiry against Trump—the second such request he’s made in recent weeks only to be rebuffed by the California Democrat and other senior leaders. Pelosi stood firm, reiterating that she isn’t open to the idea of impeaching Trump at this time.”

She then repeated that she wants to see the president go to prison instead of being impeached.

Politico then reported, “The gulf between Nadler and Pelosi was on full display Wednesday as the New York Democrat dodged questions about whether he and Pelosi were in agreement on Democrats impeachment strategy. … ‘We are investigating all of the things we would investigate, frankly, in an impeachment inquiry,’ Nadler said on CNN. He then paused for several seconds when asked Pelosi were on the same page. When that decision has to be made, it will be made not by any one individual, it will be made probably by the caucus as a whole. Certainly Nancy will have the largest single voice in it.”

Give it up already! You are wasting the time of the American people. They are meant to be legislators, not law enforcers and judges. The power is going to their heads.

Pelosi should stop her delusional thoughts: President Trump is not going to prison.
