Last week, the Justice Department correctly dropped the charges against former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Flynn was charged by the Robert Mueller team for lying to the FBI in a January 24, 2017 interview at the White House.
However, according to new evidence, General Flynn was misled by former FBI James Comey’s henchmen. The FBI officials who interviewed Flynn gave the general no indication that he was being critically investigated for his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Breitbart reported, “According to handwritten notes before a planned FBI interaction with Flynn, an unidentified FBI agent wrote: ‘What’s our goal? Truth/admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?’
The notes showed there was debate that getting Flynn to admit to alleged wrongdoing by showing him evidence was ‘going easy,’ versus prosecuting him or getting him fired.
‘We regularly show subjects evidence, with the goal of getting them to admit their wrongdoing. I don’t see how getting someone to admit their wrongdoing is going easy on them,’ the agent added.
‘If we get him to admit to breaking the Logan Act, give facts to DOJ + have them decide,” the agent wrote. ‘Or if he initially lies, then we present him [redacted] + he admits it, document for DOJ, + let them decide how to address it.’
‘If we’re seen as playing games, WH will be furious,’ the agent added. “Protect our institution by not playing games.’ WH is likely “White House.’
The author of handwritten notes is likely Bill Priestap, then head of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, according to some reports.”
Instead of condemning the actions of the FBI and Mueller team, prominent congressional Democrats have tried to change the conversation and blame Attorney General Barr for simply doing his job, turning the pursuit of justice into a partisan hit job.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said, “Attorney General Barr’s politicization of justice knows no bounds. Overruling the special counsel is without precedent and without respect for the rule of law.”
“Without respect for the rule of law?” Seriously, Nancy! Surely you misspoke and you meant to say that the Comey-led FBI and Robert Mueller investigators were the ones who showed no respect for the rule of law. I fail to see how AG Barr has been mishandling justice here.
The Democrats are returning to their default position on anything they don’t like: Investigate, investigate, investigate. When a Republican does anything they disapprove of, it’s time for a full-scale investigation for the sake of transparency. When it’s their corruption being exposed, the bad guys are the ones who exposed it.
The Hill reported that “House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) vowed to ask the department’s Inspector General to investigate the matter and called on Barr to testify about his Flynn decision as soon as possible.”
Oh, come on. This is a tired act, and it shows how desperate the Dems are to turn the subject away from their own misdeeds and the misdeeds of their beloved Barack Obama.
Chronic liar Representative Adam Schiff took to the airwaves to say that “we lost 50 year’s worth of ground in solidifying the independence of the Justice Department after Watergate,” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Thursday night on MSNBC. “The common denominator between these two cases — Roger Stone and Mike Flynn — is this: Both men lied on behalf of the president.”
Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler are trying to distract Americans from the actions of the administration of Barack Hussein Obama.
Last week, Fox News reported, “Obama asked [Former Acting Attorney General] Yates and Comey to ‘stay behind,’ and said he had ‘learned of the information about Flynn’ and his conversation with Russia’s ambassador about sanctions. Obama ‘specified that he did not want any additional information on the matter, but was seeking information on whether the White House should be treating Flynn any differently, given the information…”
The report continues: ‘It was not clear to Yates from where the President first received the information. Yates did not recall Comey’s response to the President’s question about how to treat Flynn. She was so surprised by the information she was hearing that she was having a hard time processing it and listening to the conversation at the same time.’”
The Democrats can spare us their crocodile tears about the protection of the rule of law. They have spent the past three years trying to unlawfully undo a legitimate election simply because they’re mad that they lost. These people are despicable and needed to be voted out of office in November or they will continue their perversion of justice for years to come.
