The press has been very naughty lately, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, ever the frustrated mother, let them know she was disappointed.
During a Tuesday press conference, Pelosi was asked if she thought she “needed to do a better job at messaging, and going forward, how does she sell this?” in reference to the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.
Polls show that most Americans don’t know what is in the legislation…and the ones that do REALLY don’t like it.
Instead of shouldering the blame, Mama Pelosi blamed her Democrat sycophants in the media for not selling the monstrosity.
Pelosi said, “Well, I think you all could do a better job of selling it, to be very frank with you. Every time I come here, I go through the list … It is hard to break through when you have such a comprehensive package.”
The media are getting grounded by Mama Pelosi. Apparently, they forgot they work for the Democrats. The media is the propaganda arm of the Democrat party, and on this specific massaging issue, they have failed their masters miserably.
Democrats must control the narrative and regulate dissemination of information, and if they don’t, they lash out like Pelosi did at the media. From their perspective, they must remain in power, even if they need to use the power of the Federal government to do so.
In February, two Congressional Democrats wrote a letter to major cable providers that air Fox News, OANN, and Newsmax, clearly trying to intimidate them into pulling the conservative-leaning networks from their cable package.
How clever of them. They can claim that this isn’t a First Amendment violation because they were just asking a question.
If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.
Washington Examiner reported, “Two House Democrats on Monday questioned 12 television and content providers about why they carry Fox News, One America News Network, and Newsmax, blaming the right-leaning outlets for spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories.
Democratic Reps. Anna Eshoo and Jerry McNerney, both from California, sent letters to television content providers such as AT&T, Roku, Comcast, and Verizon asking them why they carried the three ‘purported’ news outlets that they say function as ‘misinformation rumor mills and conspiracy theory hotbeds that produce content that leads to real harm.’
The Democrats asked the content carriers if they plan ‘to continue carrying Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN,’ and if so, why.
The letters represent Democrats’ latest reactions to the Jan. 6 Capitol attack by supporters of former President Donald Trump, many of whom, Democrats say, were influenced by Fox News, OANN, and Newsmax.
Right-wing media outlets, like Newsmax, One America News Network (OANN), and Fox News all aired misinformation about the November 2020 elections,’ McNerney and Eshoo wrote. ‘These same networks also have been key vectors of spreading misinformation related to the pandemic.’”
Interesting how those networks are all conservative-leaning as though CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, and CBS never report factually inaccurate information.
They are pure as the driven snow, apparently. It’s just those pesky Right-wing networks that peddle conspiracy theories.
These are the same networks that pushed the Russia Hoax for four years and even awarded themselves Pulitzer Prizes for doing so.
This effort to intimidate companies into silencing conservatives is downright scary. This is something one would expect to read about in a dystopian novel, not something you’d see taking place at the United States Capitol.
Cracking down on supposed “misinformation” is code for “We don’t like what these networks are reporting, they contradict our beliefs, and therefore they must be silenced.”
Now it’s time for members of the media to go to their rooms and think about what they have done.
Mama Pelosi won’t allow them to eat their dinner until they write Democrat propaganda pieces that are to her satisfaction.
Next time, they must do better.
