Genocide is a heavy word. The term carries a lot of historical weight behind it, and it’s not one to be used lightly. World history has been full examples of what happens when people group tries to systematically exterminate another.

The Armenian genocide…the Bosnian genocide…the Jewish genocide of the Holocaust…

The world has seen plenty of examples of genocide in both ancient and contemporary history. However, in recent days, the word has been thrown around frequently, referencing the wrongful death of George Floyd and other black men like him at the hands of white police officers and “vigilante” citizens.

To compare what has happened to black American men in the 20th and 21st Century to historic genocides is understandable—but it’s wrong.

The deaths of George Floyd and many others is an immense tragedy—but the fact remains that there is no genocide happening here in America…and can be proven by looking at the facts.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson is a very important and strong voice in the Conservative community, and when he’s right about something, he’s usually very right about it. When he makes statements, he’ll always have statistics and facts to back up what he says.

In his characteristic fashion, he addressed the idea of a “genocide” against black men in America during a recent broadcast—and his message is something that people NEED to hear.

Tucker Carlson Asks The Important Questions

He started his monologue with a question.

“Genocide,” Carlson began, “If you believed we were seeing genocide, then you might understand the riots now in progress. There’s nothing worse than genocide. But is it happening? Is any of this true?”

That’s the question that needs to be answered, right?

If Leftist activists are going to call these deaths at the hands of police officers “genocide,” then they’d better be able to back it up. That’s not a word to be used lightly.

“We should find out,” Carlson continued. “Facts matter. What exactly are the numbers? We found the numbers, and we’re going to go through them with you in some detail tonight because it’s worth it.”

Exactly… we should find out.

Then Carlson dropped a truth bomb: “Since 2015, The Washington Post has maintained a comprehensive database of fatal police shootings in this country. Last year, the Post logged 1,004 killings. Of the 802 shootings in which the race of the police officer and the suspect was noted, 371 of the those killed were white; 236 were black. The vast majority of those killed were not in fact, ‘unarmed.’ The vast majority were armed, and African American suspects were significantly more likely to have a deadly weapon than white suspects. Yet more white suspects were killed.”

And that’s an important thing to keep in mind…

In police encounters, more whites were killed than blacks, on average. Still, those numbers are high. 1,004 police-involved deaths in a year is indicative of some kind of crisis, even if it’s not a racist genocide.

However, what people are not talking about is the fact that these numbers are going DOWN.

More from Carlson: “Last year was the SAFEST year for unarmed suspects since The Washington Post began tracking police shootings. It was the safest year for both white and black suspects.”

Who’s Really Being Hunted?

“Meanwhile, the U.S. remains a dangerous place for police officers, with forty-eight murdered in 2019, which is more than all unarmed suspects killed, of all races.”

From there, he continued on discussing another shocking fact: in 2019 there were ten unarmed black people (nine men, one woman) killed by police. Carlson discussed each one by name, describing the details of the cases.

Of those ten people killed, five were actively involved in conflict with the police, either in hand-to-hand combat or using their vehicles as a weapon. Of the remaining cases, two saw criminal charges brought against the officers involved, punishing them for the wrongful deaths.

In that same year, almost FIVE times as many LEOs were killed by suspects. So, who’s really in trouble here?

Tucker continued by noting that in 2018 “7,407 black Americans” were murdered in non-police incidents, and if those numbers continue “on a similar trajectory,” it would mean that “for every unarmed black person shot to death by police, more than 700 were murdered by someone else… usually someone they know.”

So where does that leave us?

If a cop kills a black man, the country erupts in protest.

If a black man kills another black man, nobody bats an eye.

But it was what Tucker closed with that really should have Americans questioning what’s happening.

“Again, those are the facts,” Tucker finished. “They are not in dispute. Are African Americans being ‘hunted,’ as Joy Reid recklessly claimed on MSNBC recently? Or is something else happening? Is our nation being ripped apart by a total and complete lie, a PROVABLE lie? A lie used by cynical media manipulators and unscrupulous politicians who understand that racial strife, race hatred, is their path to power, even if it destroys the country? You have the facts now and you can decide what’s really going on.”

So, what do you think?

Is Tucker right?

Is there something ELSE going on here besides the murder of unarmed black men?

You be the judge…
