Known intellectual lightweight and 1619 Project founder Nikole Hannah-Jones is at it again. She is a purveyor of fake history, and she is continuing her trademark historical lies.

This time, Hannah-Jones is calling Cuba the most equal country in the Western hemisphere, even while citizen anti-government protests rage.

Yes, seriously, that is a thing she said.

If she means “equally poor,” then I guess she is right, because that is what socialism produces…every time.

In 2019, Hannah-Jones told Vox’s Ezra Klein, “If you want to see the most equal, multiracial democ… it’s not a democracy — the most equal, multiracial country in our hemisphere, it would be Cuba,” Hannah-Jones stated, despite admitting she’s not an “expert” on race relations internationally.

“Cuba has the least inequality between black and white people of any place really in the hemisphere,” she continued. “I mean the Caribbean — most of the Caribbean it’s hard to count because the white population in a lot of those countries is very, very small. They’re countries run by black folks. But in places that are truly at least biracial countries, Cuba actually has the least inequality, and that’s largely due to socialism, which I’m sure no one wants to hear.”

Since Hannah-Jones isn’t a fan of facts, I thought I would give her a brief lesson on what Cuban socialism has wrought.

Today, Cuba still lags far behind the standard of living in the industrialized world.

The average Cuban makes just $20 a month, food shortages are frequent, and people lack basic necessities.

The Associated Press reported that “Food stores in Cuba are government-run and sell products ranging from highly subsidized to wildly overpriced by global standards. Every Cuban receives a ration book that allows them to buy small quantities of basic goods like rice, beans, eggs, and sugar each month for a payment equivalent to a few U.S. cents.”

The economic misery in Cuba is consistent with everything we’ve come to learn about socialism. As is always the case, Socialism spreads nothing but misery and death. One need only look at the many Cuban immigrants who fled from the island and sought refuge in the United States to understand why Socialism has no place on American soil.

But Hannah-Jones hates our country, so it makes sense why she’d embrace this ideology.

Last year she said, “I don’t think we’re an exceptional nation. I think that’s ludicrous for any nation to make that claim, and we certainly cannot make that claim,’ she said, as reported by Fox News. ‘We’re a nation founded on genocide, and chattel slavery, and classism, and gender discrimination.”

She then said the quiet part out loud and admitted that the 1619 Project is a work of fiction.

The fight over the 1619 Project is not about history. It is about memory,’ she tweeted. ‘I’ve always said that the 1619 Project is not a history. It is a work of journalism that explicitly seeks to challenge the national narrative and, therefore, the national memory. The project has always been as much about the present as it is the past.”

Why would anyone take this woman seriously? Well, we here at FreedomWire don’t…and neither should you.
