As if this year wasn’t absurd enough with a pandemic, lockdowns, and election madness, the far-Left governor of California just made it that much more bizarre for residents of the Blue State.

Earlier this month, Governor of California Gavin Newsom’s office tweeted out new guidance for “slowing the spread” of COVID-19 in the state.

Nearly seven months after the lockdowns initially began, the authoritarian government workers of the Golden State have asked diners who go to restaurants in public to wear their face masks in between bites while eating.

The tweet reads, “Going out to eat with members of your household this weekend? Don’t forget to keep your mask on in between bites. Do your part to keep those around you healthy. #SlowtheSpread”

First of all, as far as “slowing the spread” is concerned, the spread has been slowed in the state for several months. California was never a hotspot state to begin with and never had hospitals full of people who contracted the virus.

Just a few weeks ago, it was reported there were only three people hospitalized from the coronavirus with only about 1,000 people diagnosed with it in one particular county. Statistically, that’s far less than a flu season or any other of the top causes of death in America.

To put it simply: there is no pandemic in the state of California.

Now, assuming mask-wearing works, we must acknowledge that it would be logical to have people wear masks in between bites because, as we know, eating and drinking is an easy way to spread the virus.

However, this guidance doesn’t make sense to add now that the virus is already disappearing, case counts are way down, and reopening efforts are in play. It also doesn’t change the fact that mandating face mask-wearing in the first place is unconstitutional.

Considering this, the latest tweet from Newsom’s office seems completely ridiculous as it resembles more of a control measure than protection.

This is just the latest dictator-like action from California’s governor and it’s also the reason the state is bound to turn Red this election.

President Trump has picked up on the unpopular measures Newsom has been implementing since March when the pandemic began.

Trump tweeted, “California is going to hell. Vote Trump!”

So simple, yet it’s so true. Residents of the state of California are in trouble with an authoritarian, power-hungry governor like Gavin Newsom. While I think California has a chance of going Red within a few years, it is critical that we vote in as many GOP lawmakers in the state as possible to prevent even more draconian actions from being taken.
