Is there a limit to being woke?

Is there a level of wokeness that is so encompassing that it can forgive ALL the wrongs of the world as long as they come from the people that liberals see as marginalized?

The more marginalized you are, the more stuff the Left will let you get away with. They’ll make excuses for terrible, if not downright evil, behavior.

Here in the United States…

If you’re a gay, transgender, person of color, hypothetically the Left would let you get away with mass murder.

It’s truly astounding what they’ll look the other way on…

But never in a thousand years did anybody think they’d turn a blind eye to the beheading of American citizens on camera for the world to see.

Because it seems the Left believes that TERRORISTS are now among the oppressed and marginalized and deserve to have their voice heard…

And where better to have their voice heard than in the New York Times?

Apparently, the higher-ups at the NYT believe it’s a good idea to give terrorists a platform to spread their propaganda – so they allowed a member of the Taliban to write an op-ed for their newspaper.

Honestly…

You can’t make this stuff up, folks.

The NYT’s Giving Terrorism A Platform

Sirajuddin Haqqani is the deputy leader of the Taliban – and the New York Times figured they’d give him a platform to speak, even in the midst of truce talks with the State Department.

It seems dangerous…

But the New York Times isn’t known for thinking about the big picture.

The title of the article is as telling and sets the tone that you’d expect it to…

“What We, The Taliban, Want.”

The piece starts off with Haqqani talking about how they didn’t trust Americans after having 18 years of war…

Bringing us to this paragraph here, “Nevertheless, we decided to try once more. The long war has exacted a terrible cost from everyone. We thought it unwise to dismiss any potential opportunity for peace no matter how meager the prospects of its success. For more than four decades, precious Afghan lives have been lost every day. Everyone has lost somebody they loved. Everyone is tired of war. I am convinced that the killing and the maiming must stop.”

That last line should stick in your craw…

Because the killing and maiming COULD stop—but only if terrorist forces stopped setting IEDs and shooting at American troops and their allies.

Do that, and the violence ends.

Simple, right?

That being said, there were more disturbing parts in this piece that were meant to be fluff – but if you know how to read between the line, you know what’s TRULY being said…

For instance, this paragraph: “I am confident that, liberated from foreign domination and interference, we together will find a way to build an Islamic system in which all Afghans have equal rights, where the rights of women that are granted by Islam — from the right to education to the right to work — are protected, and where merit is the basis for equal opportunity.”

The Problem With An Islamic Government

Rights? In an Islamic system?

Is he serious? We’ve seen what happens to people—women and gays especially—in an Islamic system: they’re oppressed to the point of submission or killed outright.

That’s what happens to them…

If the Taliban was committed to peace, they’d commit to a Democratic system like the Republic that has made America the strongest country the world has ever seen.

But here’s the part that we REALLY need to pay attention to.

“We are about to sign an agreement with the United States and we are fully committed to carrying out its every single provision, in letter and spirit. Achieving the potential of the agreement, ensuring its success and earning lasting peace will depend on an equally scrupulous observance by the United States of each of its commitments. Only then can we have complete trust and lay the foundation for cooperation — or even a partnership — in the future.”

Here’s the problem…

They want an Islamic system – and in the Islamic religion, it’s 100% acceptable and even encouraged for Muslims to LIE and deceive “infidels” in order to get what they want.

Now…

This doesn’t mean that they WOULDN’T honor a treaty with the United States – but the moment they don’t like the agreement, they’ll skip out on it without losing a moment’s sleep.

They’ve done it many times in the past.

This is a dangerous thing that the NYT has done, and at such an important juncture in the peace process, the timing is terrible.

This is sure to elicit some sympathy for the Taliban…

The same organization that has beheaded Americans on camera.

This is who the NYT is comfortable crawling in bed with…

And it’s telling.
