Imagine a person so partisan that he can’t see the truth due to his overwhelming commitment to his side’s agenda.
Imagine that this person is also the nominee for the next US Attorney General.
Partisanship isn’t the kind of trait you want to see in the man who’ll make the decisions about who/what to investigate and prosecute in our country…
But apparently, it’s an important trait for the Democrats—and Merrick Garland seems to be this exact kind of nominee.
Of course, we knew that Biden was going to get a Leftist as his AG.
We just didn’t know how hard-Left his nominee was going to be – but when you’ve got a guy who was appointed by Clinton and then nominated to be a Supreme Court Justice by Obama, you have to assume that he’s pretty fringy.
Right now, Garland is going through the Senate confirmation hearings mostly as a formality. With the Democrats officially in control of the Senate (thanks, Georgia), his confirmation is a slam dunk.
However, that hasn’t stopped some interesting things from coming out during these hearings…things the American people should be paying attention to.
For example, one of those interesting little tidbits is the fact that, as US Attorney General, Garland doesn’t know if he’ll continue to prosecute illegal immigration.
Laws? What Laws?!
That means that, if we won’t prosecute illegal immigration, there’s no reason to have borders or immigration guidelines and laws. If Garland won’t prosecute people for breaking these laws…then breaking the law is basically NOT illegal anymore.
So much for Sleepy Joe’s lie that he wasn’t in favor of open borders – because I’ve got news for you: if people are not going to be prosecuted for the crime of coming here illegally, then we have open borders.
However, that’s not the most concerning thing to come out of the confirmation hearings.
No, what I find most interesting is how limber and agile Garland’s brain is, as he has just performed some of the most mind-blowing mental gymnastics that you’ll ever see.
Well, in an exchange with Senator Josh Hawley, Garland revealed how he feels about partisan RIOTS.
During the hearing, Hawley asked, “Let me ask you about assaults on federal property in places other than Washington, DC — Portland, for instance, Seattle. Do you regard assaults on federal courthouses or other federal property as acts of domestic extremism, domestic terrorism?”
This is an important question…
Seeing as the riots at the Capital Building have repeatedly been called “domestic terrorism” by the Left. In fact, the Capitol riot mirrored what happened in Portland over the summer, so we would want to see some consistency from our prospective AG.
Of course, that’s not what we got.
Garland’s answer says loud and clear that he sees the two incidents as COMPLETELY different – just not for the reason you’d expect.
Garland’s Mental Gymnastic Display
“Well, Senator, my own definition, which is about the same as the statutory definition, is the use of violence or threats of violence in attempt to disrupt the democratic processes,” Garland said. “So, an attack on a courthouse, while in operation, trying to prevent judges from actually deciding cases, that plainly is domestic extremism, domestic terrorism. An attack simply on a government property at night, or any other kind of circumstances, is a clear crime and a serious one, and should be punished. I don’t know enough about the facts of the example you’re talking about. But that’s where I draw the line. One is — both are criminal, but one is a core attack on our democratic institutions.”
That, ladies and gentleman, is mental gymnastics display unlike any you’ve ever seen.
Garland’s answer comes down to whether the federal building is attacked during business hours or not.
You can’t make this stuff up, folks…
Though, he mentioned the “statutory definition” – so, let’s take a look at that: “(5) the term ‘domestic terrorism’ means activities that— (A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended— (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.”
Seems pretty cut-and-dry to me…
Either they’re both riots or they’re both acts of domestic terrorism.
Which is it, Judge Garland?
Don’t worry, we know your answer…
The Capitol Hill riots were domestic terrorism and the attempted burning down of the federal courthouse in Portland was simply a protest that got out of hand.
We know your answers before you give them…
And this is going to be the face of justice in America for the foreseeable future.
It’s enough to make you shake your head in disgust.
“With enough mental gymnastics, just about any fact can become misshapen in favor to one’s confirmation bias.” ― Criss Jami
Can you imagine if the Left physically attacked you as often as they verbally attacked the Constitution? You’d be black and blue for days. However, you don’t have to get beat up to be sore. Sometimes life, advancing age, and other factors just leave us feeling beat up all on our own. Bad backs, bad shoulders, bad knees—we all know somebody with chronic pain, or maybe we even suffer from it ourselves…and it only gets worse as we get older. New treatments show up on the market every year, and they seem to show some promise—for a while, at least. Experts and doctors thought CBD would be the next big breakthrough – but apparently it doesn’t work for everybody. New research shows what that problem may be—and for those that want a natural alternative to pain relief, your prayers may have just been answered. See what’s wrong with MOST CBD products HERE…
