If there was ever a time that would truly determine who in the GOP is a Swamp Rat and whose loyalties lie with the American people, it is now.

During a time where Republicans should be united in combatting election fraud that indeed overturned election results in many states, some members of the party refuse to fight.

It’s those who give in to allowing an election to be stolen who are Swamp Rats after all…and some of them have come as a surprise, such as Governor Brian Kemp, and now Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Meanwhile, some like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are standing strong in doing what’s right by the American people.

Trump supporters have suspected for years now that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is a Swamp Rat, but he never did anything significant enough to truly warrant the title until Tuesday.

We always knew that he was an establishment Republican, but we didn’t know where exactly his loyalties stood as he typically does just enough to keep Trump-licans satisfied and the Democrats at bay.

It was his Tuesday statement congratulating Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on their victory that told us all we need to know about Mitch McConnell.

“The Electoral College has spoken… so today I want to congratulate President-Elect Joe Biden. The President-Elect is no stranger to the Senate, he’s devoted himself to public service for many years,” McConnell said.

Taking a celebratory tone, McConnell continued, “I also want to congratulate the Vice President-Elect, our colleague from California Senator Harris. Beyond our differences, all Americans can take pride that our nation has a female vice president-elect for the very first time.”

Without acknowledging the mountain of voter fraud evidence, litigation, public hearings, or Senate hearing, McConnell simply surrendered to Biden and the far-Left that he represents.

He’s simply another in the line of establishment lawmakers who want to go back to the Old Guard that President Trump destroyed when he stepped in office.

On the other hand, Governor Ron DeSantis handled it entirely differently in alignment with the reality of the contested election.

When a reporter asked on Tuesday, “Will you accept Joe Biden as the president-elect?” DeSantis replied, “It’s not for me to do…”

“I can tell you, I think a lot of frustration for folks that supported the president was we were four years with people not accepting him. I mean Hillary, the last week of the election was saying Putin stole it,” DeSantis said.

Yet, despite the fact that the Democrats were allowed to spend millions of dollars and nearly four years on using the court system to investigate their claims of “Russian” election interference, Republican voters are not being allowed the same privilege.

So instead of happily congratulating Joe Biden based on the fact that he received the 270 electoral votes needed to be considered “President-Elect,” DeSantis countered by saying simply it is not up to him.

That is a respectable answer considering that President Trump has not conceded amid ongoing litigation.

Even more respectable is that he addressed the concerns of Trump voters, essentially using the opportunity to give a voice to the American people.

Therein lies the difference between a RINO and a Republican.

The RINO gives in to the will of the political establishment; the Republican stands up for the American people as he was elected to do.

Thankfully, at least one of them is acting based off the truth of the situation and will not betray his constituents.
