There are a lot of detestable Democrat Senators. Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi all come to mind. However, they may have just been surpassed by Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono. Until recently Senator Hirono was largely unknown by the American public, and unless you follow politics closely, you likely didn’t know much about her either.

But that’s changing now, especially after her exchange over the term “sexual preference” with Judge Amy Coney Barrett during this week’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings. Hirono has been making a compelling case for why she is the worst Democrat in the United States Senate, and that is quite a feat given her competition.

The Washington Post reported about Hirono’s viral exchange with Judge Coney Barrett:

“‘I have no agenda,’ Barrett replied. ‘I do want to be clear that I have never discriminated on the basis of sexual preference and would not discriminate on the basis of sexual preference.’”

That choice of words prompted swift pushback from some critics, who said that the phrase ‘sexual preference,’ as used by Barrett, suggested that same-sex attraction is simply a choice — one that can be changed under enough pressure.

Among those raising concern was Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), who accused the judge of using the phrase intentionally, instead of the more widely accepted ‘sexual orientation.’”

It is used by anti-LGBTQ activists to suggest that sexual orientation is a choice,’ the senator said in an exchange that swiftly went viral. ‘It is not. Sexual orientation is a key part of a person’s identity.’

Fox News reported about a heated exchange earlier in the summer between Senator Ted Cruz and Hirono over ANTIFA violence. Fox News reported about the heated exchange between Cruz and Hirono:

“The dustup occurred when Cruz, R-Texas, blasted Democrats for not condemning Antifa more directly for the violence and destruction that has taken hold in certain U.S. cities in the wake of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis.

But Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, said Cruz just wasn’t listening during the more than three-hour hearing when Democrats said violence is not acceptable.

‘Sometimes I don’t think you listen,’ Hirono told Cruz at the Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing as he finished up with a nearly 10-minute speech.  ‘So, how many times have I had to say that we all should be denouncing violent extremists of every stripe.’

‘Does that include ANTIFA?’ said Cruz, who was chairing the hearing.

‘I have the time,’ Hirono shot back.

‘…I hope this is the end of this hearing, Mr. Chairman, and that we don’t have to listen to any more of your rhetorical speeches,’ Hirono concluded.  ‘Thank you very much. I’m leaving.’

Hirono then packed up to leave the hearing before Cruz adjourned it.

‘Well I appreciate the, as always, kind of uplifting words of Senator Hirono,’ Cruz said. ‘And I would also note that throughout her remarks she still did not say a negative word about ANTIFA nor has any Democrat here.’

He urged her again to denounce the Leftist extremist group. ‘You’re welcome to say something negative about Antifa right now,’ Cruz said to his departing colleague.

‘I think that I’ve covered the subject quite well,’ Hirono replied in barely audible remarks before exiting the room.”

Also during this week’s hearing, Hirono asked Judge Barrett if she had ever sexually assaulted anyone, likely referencing the controversy surrounding Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing in 2018. Yes, that is a question that came out of a United States Senator’s mouth.

“Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any physical or verbal harassment or assault of a sexual nature?” Hirono asked.

“No, Senator Hirono,” Barrett replied. “Have you ever faced discipline or entered into a settlement related to this kind of conduct?” Hirono then asked. “No, Senator,” Barrett said.

If you didn’t know who Mazie Hirono was before, get used to hearing more from her. She makes Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer appear as likable as Mother Theresa in comparison. That’s really saying something, but the bar is that low in the Democrat Party.

God help us if they win the election.
