Who knew Mayor Pete was so sassy?

We knew the kid gloves were going to come off at some time — but if Mayor Pete or any of the other DNC hopefuls want to even have a chance at stealing the nomination away from Creepy Joe or Ol’ Bernie — they need to pick up their pace…

Which is exactly what Mayor Pete is doing.

In a recent interview, Mayor Pete was asked what it said about his party that the two front-runners, Biden and Sanders, are both in their late seventies…

Mayor Pete’s response?

“Well, I think our party is certainly ready to lift up leaders from a new generation. The exciting thing is that I think this race will create a fair playing field where people who’ve been in the public sphere for longer than I’ve been alive and people like me get to compete on the basis of our ideas.”

Oh … that sounds like a nice statement by Mayor Pete, doesn’t it?

It does … on the surface.

Mayor Pete’s Underhanded Sassiness

But what Pete actually said here is that he believes the ideas that Biden and Sanders are pushing are a lot like them…

Antiquated.

By drawing attention to the fact that they’ve been in politics longer than he’s been alive — is a subtle way of calling them a couple of old men…

And they — and their ideas — should probably be put out to pasture.

The thing is…

He’s not wrong.

You’ve got one guy who had to pull out of his first presidential race for plagiarizing, and whose biggest claim to fame is being Barry Obama’s pal who enjoys sniffing people’s hair…

And on the other hand, you’ve got Bernie Sanders — the guy who is all for socialism, communism and combing his hair with a balloon.

Their ideas are definitely past their prime…

So, in that respect, Mayor Pete isn’t wrong.

It makes sense to go in against Biden and Sanders now…

They’re both gaining momentum — and if you don’t do something to keep up, to keep your name in the forefront of your voting base’s mind — you’re going to find yourself playing catch-up. And at the distance that Biden and Sanders are covering, catching up may be an impossibility.

But neither Biden nor Sanders will come back at Mayor Pete for this one…

They may stew about it — but they won’t come back at him … in public, anyway.

So Mayor Pete can tee off on these Grumpy Old Men all he likes!

However…

The decision to go in against Trump at this point in the game — may besetting Mayor Pete up for failure.

Don’t Take On “the Sultan of Swat-You-Down”!

After Trump said a few words about Mayor Pete at a recent rally in Florida — Pete took a moment to respond, saying, “I was thinking of a Chinese proverb that goes ‘When the wind changes, some people build walls, some people build windmills’. You got to recognize we need something completely different than what we have in this White House.”

First of all…

What does that even mean? It was pretty vague. Are you hinting at Trump’s stance in the trade war with China?

Or is the whole “wall” reference in response to his stance on the border crisis?

It’s hard to tell, Mayor Pete…

If you’re going to try and make fun of somebody — maybe you should be a little more specific.

Either way, it’s probably not smart to go in on Trump at the moment — you’re only tied for third…

Going in against “the Titan of Trash Talk” now is like a rookie coming in and thinking he can strike out Babe Ruth.

Oh, you may get one or two by him…

But odds are, he’s going to get ahold of one of them and knock it out of the park.

If I were you…

I’d watch my step.

You don’t want your legs cut out from under you before you even start the race.
