Less than three months ago, President Trump was impeached for supposedly inciting the January 6 Capitol Hill riot, despite video evidence that he encouraged his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” march to the Capitol to let their voices be heard.
Since that day, in the Left’s eyes, Trump has been guilty of inciting an insurrection against the US government, and he was banned from all social media platforms as punishment.
But if that’s the Left’s new standard for “incitement,” then what will they do when one of their own crosses that line?
On Sunday, Rep. Maxine Waters literally called for violence in the streets of America…but the reaction has been muted from the Left.
By the Left’s own standards, Waters should be removed from Congress and sent right to jail (which they can do since they don’t believe in due process anymore).
Breaking curfew on Sunday in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota—since laws don’t apply to lawmakers themselves—Representative Waters said the following:
“We’ve got to stay on the street, and we’ve got to get more active. We’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.”
Sounds like Auntie Maxine is trying to stoke the flames of an insurrection, doesn’t it?
It is violently charged comments like this that are serving to further divide the country.
America is a big tinder box ready to explode—and there already have been mass riots— and the coming violence is going to make last summer’s violence look like child’s play in comparison.
Instead of using violent rhetoric, our so-called “leaders” should be lowering the temperature not turning the furnace up full-blast.
Where is President Biden on this issue? Why didn’t he immediately condemn Waters and call for Congress to remove her?
If he is Captain Unity, he would have done so. But he is a superhero without a cape.
This isn’t the first time Auntie Maxine has called for mob action. She did so in 2018 during the Trump administration when she called for her supporters to publicly harass Trump officials and other Republicans.
Waters said, “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd,” Waters said. “And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
And the mob heeded her advice and harassed Trump administration officials like then-Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, then-Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielson, and Senator Ted Cruz, all of whom were out for a meal with their families at the time of the incidents.
This was a depraved act against a parent and their children, and Maxine Waters applauded it.
But that is the state of America in 2021. America is starting to look like the 1960s where riots were a common occurrence.
Sadly, if things continue to stay the same, this decade could be worse than the turbulent 60s.
Americans are at each other’s throats and there doesn’t appear to be any middle ground between the two sides.
This is intentional.
This purposeful division being forced on the country by our supposed leaders was nicely summed up by NBA legend Charles Barkley, of all people, when he said:
“Man, I think most white people and black people are great people. I really believe that in my heart, but I think our system is set up where our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, are designed to make us not like each other so they can keep their grasp of money and power. They divide and conquer.”
Maxine Waters’ actions are a perfect example of what Barkley is saying here.
Our country will never be brought back together with comments that stoke violence from people who are supposed to defend the country, not push it to the brink of civil war.
I never thought I would ever write about a modern civil war, but sadly, this isn’t a far-fetched idea now relegated to conspiracy theorists.
I don’t think we would have a classic civil war like we did in the 1860s where both North and South had their own armies, but rather a protracted civil war with street violence, terrorism, and cultural purges—which have already begun.
A modern-day civil war would more resemble the Irish Troubles of violence between the IRA and Northern Ireland from the 1960s to 1990s, then the American Civil War of 1861-1865.
Let’s pray it doesn’t come to this. We can all do our part to lower the temperature by treating each other with respect. I understand that this is most likely a naïve view, but it doesn’t mean we can’t try.
There is only so much more division this country can take before the dam bursts.
And Maxine Waters and others will be largely to blame for the flood that follows.
