The leftist mob strikes again, this time targeting Republican Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell.
The Left has no problem accusing President Trump and conservatives of inciting violence—as they did regarding the weekend shootings in El Paso and Dayton—but they are silent when members of the Left do the exact same thing.
One of the top trending topics on Twitter was #MassacreMoscowMitch.
First of all, one must wonder why Twitter doesn’t ban that hashtag from their site. That is clearly a violent threat against a sitting United States Senator. However, as of this writing, they have not taken down the hashtag from their trending list.
Fox News reported, “The hashtag…#MassacreMoscowMitch trended on social media in the wake of mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. The mashup hashtag combines two other trending hashtags targeting McConnell: #moscowmitch and #massacremitch.”
By the Left’s standards, that should be considered hate speech. If it was a conservative calling for violence against a liberal Senator, all hell would break loose. The media would demand that all conservatives—including President Trump—condemn the hateful rhetoric.
And unlike the Left, conservatives would have no problem condemning it. However, so far, there have been very few prominent liberals who have condemned this disgusting rhetoric.
The Reason For The Hatred
Much of the anger from the Left has been directed at McConnell for his refusal to bring gun control legislation to the Senate floor following passage in the Democrat-controlled House back in February.
Leftists are also upset at the Senate Majority leader for his failure to allow a vote on anti-Russian election interference legislation. McConnell said that the bill is just a political ploy on the part of the Democrats. (That is how he received the nickname “Moscow Mitch.)
This hatred has led the mob to surround McConnell’s house and disturb the peace in his neighborhood. McConnell is recuperating from a fall over the weekend that resulted in an injury to his shoulder.
The radical leftists have no sympathy for the man. A group of them has surrounded his house to demand he take action on gun control legislation and other leftist priorities.
Fox News reported that “protestors outside his home were shouting ‘No Trump, no KKK, no Fascist USA!’ while others called him names like ‘Murder Turtle’ and made loud noises by banging objects and dragging a shovel back and forth on the ground as a group of security personnel stood between the protestors and the home.”
The group and the #MassacreMoscowMitch campaign were cheered on by New York Times and CNN contributor Wajahat Ali. Ali tweeted, “#MassacreMoscowMitch is trending. I still have faith in America.”
Alit later deleted the tweet but refused to apologize.
Again, where was Twitter on that one? Apparently, if a member of the Left calls for violence against a Republican, that is acceptable speech to them.
This kind of disruption to the lives of Trump officials and supporters has been encouraged by other politicians as well, including Representative Maxine Waters.
Mad Maxine encouraged a crowd of supporters to harass Trump administration officials when they are in public, telling the crowd:
“I have no sympathy for these people that are in this administration who know it is wrong what they’re doing on so many fronts but they tend to not want to confront this president.
For these members of his cabinet who remain and try to defend him they’re not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they’re not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they’re not going to be able to shop at a department store, they’re going to protest, they’re going to absolutely HARASS them until they decide that they’re going to tell the president no I can’t hang with you, this is wrong this unconscionable and we can’t keep doing this to children. “
Again, if the shoe was on the other foot, and somebody on the Right said the same thing during the Obama administration, the Left would have been in all-out panic mode. They would have been justified to feel appalled by such rhetoric, just as conservatives are justifiably outraged by the Left’s actions over the last few days.
The Left’s hypocrisy knows no bounds.
