This article is going to sting some people a little…but I don’t care. It needs to be said.

As a Floridian (not native, but close enough, since moved here when I was 6—almost 42 years ago), I love tourists.

Not because I enjoy the way they clog up our roads or are extremely rude or don’t seem to understand that Florida isn’t just a place to visit, but a place that actual people live …

But because with them comes the money that keeps my state thriving.

Don’t get me wrong, Florida isn’t Shangri-La. You’d be hard-pressed to find a Floridian who isn’t cursing our geographical location come early August when the sun and humidity start cooking us alive while we expertly try to dodge hurricanes.

But compared to a lot of places in the United States, Florida IS a form of paradise.

Though, that paradise becomes a bit crowded during the winter months when the snowbirds travel south to escape the snow and ice. It’s an inconvenience that can be dealt with for the few months that they’re down here.

However, 2021 has been a little different from the other snowbird seasons I’ve witnessed over the past 42 years…and that worries me both as a Floridian and as a Conservative.

A Growing Trend In America

One of my favorite things to do during Florida’s tourist season is take note of all the different license plates from other states and countries.

We mostly get visitors from the northeast, like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Ohio—or, as we like to call them down here, the Big Five.

However, this year, I’m seeing more license plates from California, Nevada, and Oregon than I ever have before in my life.

Now, this is significant. Why? Well, because a trip from the Big Five will take anywhere between 18-22 hours of driving, meaning you can make the trip in a day if you don’t take any long breaks. Taking a vacation where you drive down is feasible from most states on the East Coast.

However, for people from the West Coast, where a trip to Florida can take two or three days by car, driving to Florida is less feasible.

This means that those license plates I’m seeing from Western states more than likely aren’t here for a vacation. Those people have probably moved here permanently, looking for the freedoms that were taken from them by Liberal lockdowns policies back in their home state.

Now, I’m all for people finding freedom and bringing their hard-earned dollars to greener pastures…

However, what I’m NOT ok with is that these people are looking to escape the horrors of a Liberal-run state only to come here and vote for the same kind of people that imposed the extended lockdowns in the first place.

Keep Your Liberal Politics Out Of My Conservative State!

We don’t need that here.

There’s a reason that Florida has some of the lowest COVID numbers in the US despite being one of the most populated – and it’s because we didn’t follow the Liberal narrative.

If you’re going to vote for Democrats and Liberal policy, then do us Floridians a favor: Stay the F**K in your own state.

We don’t want you here…

Seriously, and as much as the Florida Liberals say they want you here – they actually don’t. They don’t want to fall under Liberals’ freaky lockdown rules any more than Conservatives do.

If you want to bring your money, bring it.

If you want to bring your businesses, bring them.

If you want to bring some cold weather, bring it!

However, if you want to bring your politics here, I think I can speak for all Floridians as well as for all Conservatives in any other Red-led state for that matter…

Then you’re not welcome.

Leave that Liberal BS at home…

Florida is free and we want it to remain that way.
