Senator Kamala Harris is reaping praise on Bret Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford.
You may remember Dr. Ford from the Bret Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
Ford accused Bret Kavanaugh of sexual assault at a party when they were in high school.
There was never any proof provided to back up her claims; everyone she claimed were witnesses denied the assault took place.
There has never been any evidence brought forward backing up her claim.
Bret Kavanaugh’s reputation and family were put through the wringer because of her baseless accusations.
Who could possibly defend her actions?
Answer: Senator Kamala Harris and Time Magazine.
Time Magazine named Christine Blasey Ford as one of their “100 most influential people.”
Apparently, if you ruin a good man’s reputation, you are celebrated for it on the cover of Time Magazine.
Kamala Harris wrote a short celebratory piece on Ford in the pages of Time. She wrote:
“Her story, spoken while holding back tears, shook Washington and the country. Her courage, in the face of those who wished to silence her, galvanized Americans. And her unfathomable sacrifice, out of a sense of civic duty, shined a spotlight on the way we treat survivors of sexual violence.”
She claims this a sacrifice? What did she sacrifice? How insulting to people like our first responders and servicemen that sacrifice for her freedom to testify in front of Congress and destroy the character of a family man.
Also, Kamala, we have this thing called the U.S. Constitution. It gives an individual the right to due process. You have to prove without a shadow of a doubt that the person was guilty. Ford never met this standard.
She was a federal prosecutor, for God’s sake! She should know better.
Harris is just assuming that she was telling the truth; clearly she wasn’t.
Harris continued: “Christine Blasey Ford’s ambition wasn’t to become a household name or make it onto the list. She had a good life and a successful career — and risked everything to send a warning in a moment of grave consequences.
Last time I checked, she still has her job, and her reputation wasn’t tarnished on unfounded charges like she did to Kavanaugh.
What exactly is she warning us about? We already knew that there was a #MeToo movement. Her Liberal friends in Hollywood and the media are the ones who committed disgusting acts against women. Maybe she should give them a call.
Harris concluded: “At her core, she is a teacher. And through her courage, she forced the country to reckon with an issue that has too often been ignored and kept in the dark.”
Maybe we should reckon with the fact that men are accused of sexual assault and are presumed guilty. The movement to “believe all women” is dangerous to men. Women can accuse any man of sexual assault, and they have no way to fight back.
Thanks to people like Christine Blasey Ford, this has been made the new cultural standard.
Men who assault women deserve to face harsh justice; it is wrong and disgusting.
However, the justice system is supposed to allow them a day in court: innocent until proven guilty.
Now the standard is guilty no matter what.
It is despicable that a sitting United States senator and presidential candidate are celebrating this behavior.
It is a sad reflection on our cultural norms.
