The Squad—comprised of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayana Pressley—are seeking new members to try out for their socialist team in the upcoming Congressional term. So far, they have one prospect who would complete their starting lineup—Congressman-Elect Jamaal Bowman (D-NY). Unless being a woman is a perquisite to Squad membership, Bowman’s quite a contender.

The newly-elected Bowman compared capitalism to slavery this week. You read that right: Capitalism equals slavery. The more these radicals talk, the more they hurt the Democrat party with voters in the middle of the country. So, by all means, Mr. Bowman, continue to chip away.

Bowman launched the following tirade against capitalism:

“I believe our current system of capitalism is slavery by another name. We’ve moved from physical chattel enslavement and physical racial segregation to a plantation economic system.” He continued, “One that keeps the majority of Americans unemployed, or underemployed and struggling just to survive, while the power elite continues to concentrate wealth in the hands of a few and allow large corporations to pretty much run the world as multinational corporations.”

“The pandemic has revealed it. With almost 300,000 dead from the pandemic, disproportionately Black and brown, and Jeff Bezos is the first $200 billionaire. In the next six years, he might become the first trillionaire.”

There are so many fallacies in that statement, I don’t know where to begin.

First of all, what an insult to all Black people in history who were actually enslaved on a real plantation. There is no owner with a whip making anyone work in 21st Century America. Under, capitalism there is employment at will.

And no, there are no laws on the books that force segregation and intentionally limit the rights of minorities. Until the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, there were laws that purposely targeted minorities, but that is no longer the case.

If Bowman is upset about minorities being unemployed during the pandemic, he can thank his fellow Democrats for their unconstitutional lockdowns. Prior to the coronavirus outbreak, minorities had the lowest unemployment in American history, and wages were rising across the board.

And yes, corporations are large and successful. But without them, there would be fewer jobs, and consumers—including minorities—would be worse off.

Also, what does being a minority have to do with dying from the coronavirus? Is the virus racist? Yes, it appears that minorities have been hard hit by the virus. Apparently, the virus isn’t woke enough.

The pandemic is just another crisis that the Left is exploiting to push their socialist and radical transformation agenda. Like Rahm Emanual once said during the Obama administration: “Don’t let a crisis go to waste.”

And Jeff Bezos is uber-wealthy because he provides consumers a product that they were willing to pay for. Amazon has revolutionized the retail industry, and I am assuming that Mr. Bowman has purchased a product or two from Amazon because most people have.

Even if he hasn’t, millions of Americans purchase products that they desire on Amazon every day. There is a reason that Jeff Bezos is so wealthy. His wealth wasn’t just handed to him, and he had to provide goods and services that consumers were willing to purchase to satisfy their demands.

Apparently, being an economic illiterate is a prerequisite for joining the Squad. If that it is so, then Jamal Bowman will make the team and be in the starting lineup come opening day.
