Despite brokering several groundbreaking peace deals, there is still one enemy President Trump must face in the Middle East. Iran’s terrorist regime is again threatening American lives to avenge the death of their leader and military commander, Qassem Soleimani, who the US took out with a drone strike at the beginning of the year. However, the president is vowing a strong show of force in response if Iran moves forward with their reported plans to target a US Ambassador.

On Tuesday night, President Trump assured that America will strike back “1,000 times greater in magnitude” if they try to assassinate US Ambassador to South Africa Lana Marks.

He posted to Twitter, “According to press reports, Iran may be planning an assassination, or other attack, against the United States in retaliation for the killing of terrorist leader Soleimani, which was carried out for his planning a future attack, murdering U.S. Troops, and the death & suffering…caused over so many years. Any attack by Iran, in any form, against the United States will be met with an attack on Iran that will be 1,000 times greater in magnitude!” he continued.

This comes after Politico reported that US Intelligence sources told them threats have heightened against the diplomat, specifically involving the Iranian embassy in South Africa.

A US agency has notified Marks that her life is actively being threatened and she is being provided extra security protection.

Iran is reportedly seeking to retaliate for the death of Soleimani who Trump ordered to be killed by a drone strike earlier this year. Foreign policy experts have predicted retaliation in some form from Iran since.

Although Iran is plotting to assassinate a US Ambassador, they did not take well to Trump’s warning.

Government spokesman Ali Rabiei said during a news conference, “We hope that they do not make a new strategic mistake and certainly in the case of any strategic mistake, they will witness Iran’s decisive response,” Aljazeera reported.

However, many foreign policy and legal analysts say President Trump made the right move by promising swift retaliation against Iran if they harm an American. Contrary to Democrats like Amy Klobuchar, who think Trump is escalating conflict with the terrorist regime, experts say the president is acting out of necessity.

If Iran is planning a terrorist attack against Americans, what do Democrats expect Trump to do, sit back and let it happen like Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi moment? Absolutely not.

It doesn’t take an expert to understand that, if intelligence knows of an imminent, active threat, the president must issue a strong response to let Iran know that plotting to kill Americans will not go unpunished. Trump is not only responding correctly, but he is also carrying out his responsibility to defend American officials domestically and abroad.
