On Sunday night, the 93rd annual Academy Awards were held in Hollywood.
I watched about 20 seconds of the ceremony before turning the channel at the first mention of social justice nonsense, which was 20 seconds more than most of you reading this probably watched of the show.
And that’s with good reason, because who wants to sit and watch a group of millionaires, who play pretend for a living, celebrate each other with gold trophies while they lecture the rest of us about the evils of the country we love? On top of that, they were also being protected by the very people they want to abolish…the cops.
That’s right, as Hollywood railed against the supposed systemically racist policing system in America, those very same actors were being protected by the people they condemn on a regular basis.
Oh, and they had homeless people removed from the venue to make way for their super-duper important pretend award ceremony.
There are hypocrites, and then there are actors.
The Post Millennial reported, “Security fencing was erected around the perimeter of Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday to provide protection for the Hollywood elite and their Academy Award ceremony. The red carpet, and the dazzling celebs who walked it, were well secured from the general public…
Police amply protected the celebs who stood on stage in designer gowns and suits to decry American law enforcement. On tall heels and with resounding voices, actors and artists used their platform to speak against the very institution that was protecting them from the greater homelessness of LA.”
Talk about being self-unaware.
I know these people live in imaginary worlds for a living, but that is some level of self-deception to pretend that there weren’t cops and walls protecting them as they decried these very same people.
That’s actually an impressive amount of self-delusion. I admire their ability to be so detached from reality that they can with a straight face call for the abolishment of the police and not understand the irony of what they were pontificating to the rest of us.
They can have their opinions, but we also have the right to call them out on their hypocrisy. Reminding them that playing pretend for your job doesn’t give you superior knowledge over the rest of us plebeians isn’t a bad thing.
Just because they play cops on screen doesn’t mean that they understand what good policing looks like.
The Left ruins everything fun, including movies.
How I long for the days when I could watch movies, sports, and concerts without having to be lectured to by millionaires complaining about how awful and racist a country America is.
Wow, what a horrible country. It must suck to make millions of dollars in a repressive society.
Once again, they are so self-unaware, that they don’t understand the irony that black athletes and actors are paid millions of dollars…but this is a racist country.
If we are a racist country, we are bad at it.
In the words of former Golden Globes Host, Ricky Gervais: “So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.
So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God and f**k off, OK?”
