Liberals couldn’t just wish President Trump a happy birthday and go on with their days. They just had to turn it into an opportunity for trolling.

In an attempt to mock the president on his birthday, a producer from The Ellen DeGeneres Show initiated a social media hashtag campaign called #JohnMcCainDay.

If you are shaking your head trying to understand why that makes sense, you are not alone.

Fortunately, the intrepid reporters at Newsweek got to the bottom of it.

Newsweek reported that “the trend started when Andy Lassner, the executive producer of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, suggested his followers commemorate the president’s birthday by making McCain’s name appear all over the social media site… I’m sure this would mean a lot to a patriot like Donald Trump.”

Wow, they really showed him!

They are trying to use the name of one of the president’s former political opponents as a way to take the attention away from his birthday.

How clever.

I won’t even mention how these same Liberals spoke about Senator McCain while he was alive…

But, they aren’t done yet.

“A petition on calling for June 14th (Trump’s birthday and Flag Day) to also be recognized as John McCain Day. The petition, started five days prior, was circulating on Twitter after the hashtag went viral.”

Where do these people come up with such brilliant ideas?

The Life and Times of Donald Trump

Donald J. Trump was born in Queens, New York, on June 14, 1946.

His father, Fred Trump, was a successful real estate developer who specialized in constructing and operating middle-income apartments in Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn.

Donald Trump went on to take the family business to new heights with large construction projects in Manhattan. The Grand Hyatt New York and Trump Tower solidified his place as New York’s best-known developer.

Trump became a high profile media personality, was featured in the pages of the tabloids, and appeared on countless talk shows.

Then, in 2004, he became the host of the hit reality show The Apprentice. The show catapulted him to media stardom, a platform that would garner him high name recognition when he announced his run for president in 2015.

Candidate Trump shocked the political world by running away with the Republican nomination. In a crowded field of 17, Trump somehow managed to stand out. He garnered hundreds of hours of free advertising from television programs that became obsessed with his campaign.

Then in November of 2016, he shocked the entire world again with his upset victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton, securing his place as the 45th President of the United States.

Despite the best efforts of the media and the Democratic Party, Trump has accomplished a great deal during his time in office. He cut government regulations at a faster pace than any president in modern times, he rebuilt the military, cut taxes, ended the individual mandate, and appointed not one, but two Supreme Court Justices.

But that’s not all. Unlike his predecessor, Trump has strengthened America’s image around the world, refusing to let anyone take advantage of us. He ripped up the horrible Obama-negotiated Iran

Nuclear Deal, and withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accords. ISIS is now a shell of their former self thanks to the leadership of President Trump.

Not bad for his first two years in office.

Happy Birthday, Mr. President!
