As you may remember, actress “Hanoi Jane” Fonda betrayed her country during the Vietnam War. She famously visited North Vietnam to call for peace even as men and women of the United States Military were fighting and dying in the rice paddies and jungles of the country.

She was used by the NVA as a propaganda tool. They photographed her looking happy while sitting on an anti-aircraft gun that was used to shoot at and kill Americans.

Now she is being invited to speak at an event commemorating the 50-year anniversary of the National Guard shooting at Kent State University in Ohio. The university—which is funded by taxpayers—is paying the actress $83,000 to speak at the college.

PJ Media reported, “In a move that surprised many in the Northeast Ohio area and beyond, Kent State President Todd Diacon announced that actress, activist, and (former?) communist sympathizer Jane Fonda will be one of the speakers at an anniversary commemoration of the shooting on May 3—and she’ll be paid a whopping $83,000 to ostensibly reminisce about her anti-war activism.”

The fact that Kent State is paying Fonda to speak says a lot about our public institutions and the Left-wing indoctrination that is promoted at our taxpayer-funded colleges.

According to a study by Brooklyn College professor Mitchell Langbert, Democrats have a 70-to-1 ratio over Republicans in religious studies; 33-to-1 in music; 21-to-1 in biology; in philosophy, history, and psychology, it is 17-to-1. In political science, it is 8-to-1.

The ideology of the professors is having an influence on many of their students.

It can be seen at the polls where 67 percent of people aged 18 to 29 voted for the Democratic candidate in the 2018 midterm election.

It can be seen in the increased favorability of socialism amongst millennials. According to the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, 52 percent of millennials would prefer to live in a socialist or communist country rather than a capitalist one. Professors have neglected to teach students the true history of communism: One in four students have never been taught about communism.

It is no wonder that college campuses have actively worked to silence conservative speech on campus.

Preventing college conservatives from speaking on campuses has become something of a sport to the Left.

They shout down and disrupt conservative speakers when they come to speak on their campus.

Of the conservative speakers brought on campus, none have drawn more of their wrath than Ben Shapiro.

The editor-in-chief of the Daily Wire has had numerous speeches disrupted, fire alarms pulled, administrators who barred him from speaking, and was required to have $600,000 of security at UC Berkeley.

All because students on the Left disagree with his viewpoints.

In his latest book, “The Right Side of History,” Shapiro recalled one such episode: “As we approached the campus, we could see helicopters swirling overhead. We pulled into a parking lot behind the auditorium, and dozens of armed, uniformed police quickly formed a cordon and rushed me through the back door … a few rioters were physically assaulting students who wanted to enter … it sounded like a zombie apocalypse.”

Egged on by their professors, many leftist students have used violence and intimidation to silence their conservative peers — all in the name of “social justice.”

The difference between Liberal students and Conservative students is that Conservative students won’t try to shut-down Fonda. If it was a Conservative speaker like Shapiro, that is exactly what would happen.
