Hey, Democrats, the Mueller investigation is over! You lost! Take your ball and go home!
Unfortunately, they continue to plow forward with phony investigations, as if they’re hoping to discover a smoking gun buried in a filing cabinet at the Department of Justice.
The House Democrats have issued subpoenas for more documents related to the Mueller report. They want to go over Mueller’s notes again and again until they find something to implicate the President in a crime.
They just don’t have enough information to go forward on impeachment, so they’re going to drag this process out until they do.
That is their goal at least. Continue to muddy the waters with the hope that either 1) they can actually find a way to impeach Trump, or 2) the negative press will drive down his favorability ratings and cause him to lose in 2020.
The House Judiciary Committee has already voted to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress, which is ludicrous given the fact that Mueller released all 449 pages of the Mueller report to Congress and the public —despite being under no obligation to do so.
It was on the New York Times bestseller list, for God’s sake!
That wasn’t good enough for the Democrats. They continue to drag the Barr’s reputation through the mud in the name of their delusional conquest.
How can the Democrats issue a subpoena for something that was not required to be released by law?
It seems to have been forgotten that the attorney general was not required to release the report at all; instead of holding Barr in contempt, they should be thanking him. Even Robert Mueller acknowledged that Barr acted in good faith by releasing the entire report to Congress.
House Dems Strike Deal with DOJ over Mueller Records
The Democrats got their way, partially, on Monday when they came to an agreement with the Department of Justice to turn over some additional records related to the Mueller investigation.
Fox News reported that Chairman Jerry Nadler “announced the deal with the Justice Department for documents and evidence related to Mueller’s inquiry on whether the president obstructed justice—an agreement that prompted him to hit pause on efforts to hold Attorney General Bill Bar in contempt, though his house colleagues are still pursuing contempt against Barr on two separate fronts this week.”
Nadler then released the following statement: “I am pleased to announce that the Department of Justice has agreed to begin complying with our committee’s subpoena by opening Robert Mueller’s most important files to us, providing us with key evidence that the Special Counsel used to assess whether the president and others obstructed justice or were engaged in misconduct. These documents will allow us to perform our constitutional duties and decide how to respond to the allegations laid out against the president by the special counsel.”
Give it up, man!
You’re not going to find anything else. Mueller clearly doesn’t like Trump, and if he had evidence that implicated Trump, he sure as hell wouldn’t have hidden it!
But no matter how much we might plead with them, it’s doubtful that Democrats will ever give up the search. They’ve all been blinded by a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and they’ll more than likely keep chasing this thing until they get what they want—regardless of who they have to step on along the way.
