Welcome to the first edition of FreedomWire’s weekly news roundup, where we look back at the stories we covered this past week, for you, our valued readers.

Theme Of The Week: Shortages.

Shortage of goods. Shortage of workers. Shortage of presidential leadership. Shortage of brainpower in the White House.

You might have noticed that there are empty store shelves at your local grocer, and that you are paying more for almost everything, and that gas prices are too damn high!

Ports are congested to the point that ships can’t dock, and the ones that can aren’t getting unloaded because of staffing shortages, leaving American consumers fretting over the coming Christmas shopping season.

This Christmas shopping season is going to resemble Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Christmas classic, Jingle All the Way more than it will It’s A Wonderful Life.

It’s going to be the Christmas from Hell!

And Joe Biden is going to be the Grinch who stole Christmas. Biden’s ineptness is making our lives more difficult.

So much for “building back better.”

Adding to Biden’s unpopularity is the fact that Americans are paying more for a wide range of goods. Inflation is at its highest in 13 years, and the Social Security Administration has warned that benefits will have to rise at the highest rate in 40 years to keep up with the cost of living.

According to the Daily Caller, “The latest Commerce Department data shows year-over-year inflation amounted to 4.3 percent. That’s the quickest rise over 12-months in 30 years. An alternative inflation indicator measured a 5.3 percent jump over the same period. Average hourly earnings simultaneously grew by 4.3 percent. As prices rise, purchasing power weakens, and wage gains erode.”

Furthermore, gas prices are at the highest they’ve been in seven years. Last year the national average for a gallon of unleaded gas was Only $2.18. Now the national average is $3.22.

Does Biden’s Administration Feel Our Pain?

Um…not exactly.

The out-of-touch White House officials displayed their complete lack of empathy this week.

As Americans are having a harder time paying their bills and saving for Christmas gifts for their families, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain and Press Secretary Jen Psaki both made comments that provided a window into what the administration really thinks about Americans who live outside the Beltway.

The New York Post reported, “Late Wednesday, Klain shared a post from Harvard professor Jason Furman and wrote ‘This’ with two emoji hands pointing a finger down at the original tweet.

‘Most of the economic problems we’re facing (inflation, supply chains, etc.) are high-class problems. We wouldn’t have had them if the unemployment rate was still 10 percent. We would instead have had a much worse problem,’ Furman wrote, apparently referring to when Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. Powell said the employment rate in January was around 10 percent.”

When asked about how inflation impacts the financial decisions Americans make, Press Secretary Jen Psaki dropped this doozy of an explainer on personal finances:

“And also because we all understand the American people are not looking at cost to cost comparisons from this year to two years ago, they’re looking at cost to cost comparisons to their checkbooks from eight months ago or twelve months ago and even though factually, if you look back to years ago things may be comparative, that’s not how people look at things.”

See, according to Klain and Psaki, we plebians who live in flyover country are too stupid to understand that we are paying more for goods and services.

Thankfully we have economic geniuses like Ron Klain and Jen Psaki to provide us with some much-needed perspective.

But don’t worry, Joe Biden will fix the crisis…by blaming private companies for the shortages.

A real Churchillian moment of leadership, Joe!

In Other News:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi was upset with her media allies this week for not selling the Dems’ $3.5 trillion Build Back Better social engineering bill.

During a Tuesday press conference, Pelosi was asked if she thought she “needed to do a better job at messaging, and going forward, how does she sell this?” in reference to the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.

Polls show that most Americans don’t know what is in the legislation…and the ones that do REALLY don’t like it.

Instead of shouldering the blame, Mama Pelosi blamed her Democrat sycophants in the media for not selling the monstrosity.

Pelosi said, “Well, I think you all could do a better job of selling it, to be very frank with you. Every time I come here, I go through the list … It is hard to break through when you have such a comprehensive package.”

Oops.

The media are getting grounded by Mama Pelosi. Apparently, they forgot they work for the Democrats. The media is the propaganda arm of the Democrat party, and on this specific massaging issue, they have failed their masters miserably.

Help Wanted: Now Hiring Woke NFL Coaches

The Lost Vegas Raiders are seeking a new head coach. Preferably one who is woke.

On Monday, former Raiders Coach Jon Gruden resigned following leaked emails from 10 years ago in which he is said to have used homophobic and racist language.

Oh, and he committed the ultimate sin: He criticized Joe Biden and Barack Obama!

Burn him at the stake!

That’s a full decade ago. This is how far back the woke mob is willing to go to score another scalp for their woke trophy case.

Sadly, Jon Gruden will never work again in the National Football League or get another job in an announcing booth because of these emails.

What we Learned This Week:

Joe Biden still sucks at his job, the woke mob is only getting angrier, and Americans continue to suffer because of the Left’s agenda.

Pretty bleak lesson, honestly. Maybe next week will be better.
