Earlier this week, I made a video about how much I love having Ron DeSantis as my governor.

From the beginning of the pandemic up until right now, he’s done what’s best for the citizens of Florida.

He didn’t use it as a power grab like Gavin Newsom…

He didn’t take advantage of the lockdowns to act like an authoritarian like Gretchen Whitmer…

He didn’t use it to get attention or win Emmys like Andrew Cuomo…

He followed the plan from the get-go: “two weeks to flatten the curve” and then, little by little, reopening until the entire state was back in full swing.

Florida thrived during the pandemic…

People from other states around the country saw that, decided to pick up stakes and try their luck in a much freer state, and headed south to “America’s Mullet”…

The great state of Florida.

We know that Florida’s population is booming because the state just gained a new seat in the House of Representatives thanks to the last census.

Oh, and New York lost two seats, letting you know which East Coast state didn’t bother worrying about the rights of its citizens.

The Big Worry

However, with everybody moving to MY state (yeah, I said “MY” state), I and my fellow Conservatives have been worried that these new people were going to come here and start voting for the same BS Liberal policies that got them into the mess they were fleeing from.

“Don’t New York my Florida” has become a popular slogan on bumper stickers and t-shirts around here—and while it’s all done in good fun, it’s still a very real concern. You really don’t know how people are going to vote when they come from a Liberal haven like New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, or similar states.

Well, Ronny D, the best governor in America, has just eased those fears for those of us life-long Floridians that like our state as free as humanly possible.

Governor DeSantis just told Fox News during a town hall event that people who are moving to Florida are “overwhelmingly” registering as Republicans, including former Democrats who fled blue states.

Ron told reporters, “The media at the beginning of this said Florida’s bad and I think it’s because they want to damage Trump in Florida, they want to damage me. So, they just kept saying it was bad. And even though the facts didn’t say it, like literally last April, they’re saying Florida is doing worse than New York. New York was like 10 times worse.”

It was terrible, wasn’t it?

Even though the numbers and hard data were showing that people were dying in much bigger numbers in New York, the mainstream media seemed to think Florida was the problem.

In fact, after the numbers for Cuomo were TERRIBLE and people started to question whether he made a lot of mistakes, #RonDeathSantis started trending on Twitter. It’s almost as if they didn’t want you to know that Florida’s numbers were SIGNIFICANTLY lower than New York’s…

And they wonder why we don’t trust the mainstream media?

Some VERY Good News

DeSantis continued, “And so, I think what it did is the people that buy those phony narratives for these media, they probably aren’t coming to Florida. But most people see through it. But the people that see through it, they think like us. And so, I think a lot of these people are coming. I think they are registering as Republicans overwhelming, and I also have come across a lot of people who, quite frankly, were Democrats. The lockdowns turned them into Republicans.”

That makes sense…

After learning the truth—after getting the red pill treatment—it’s hard to look at things in the same way.

People see that Conservatives worry about protecting freedom while Liberals only focus on gaining power.

Thankfully, I’ll be able to rest a little easier knowing that my state is getting redder by the day.

Liberty matters – and I’m happy I have a governor who thinks the same way.

“Too many in Washington display a ruling class mentality, and congressional term limits would go a long way towards restoring the citizen-legislator ethos of the Founding Fathers.” – Ron DeSantis
