This may not seem like the most popular of opinions, but the question has to be asked in trying times like these: is this the beginning of the End Times that was prophesized in the Bible?

Or are we just living in a time when information is so readily available that the trials and tribulations that were once regional concerns are now national and even global stories?

Evidence would suggest that all of the things that are going on in the world have ALWAYS happened—but now that the internet and social media are so prominent, we just hear about them more frequently.

However…

Maybe that was always part of the deal.

Maybe the timing HAD to coincide with the digital age in order for the world to know when it happened.

What is the “it” we’re talking about?

The return of Jesus Christ.

The Return Of The TRUE King

For Christians around the world, the return of Jesus has been something that has been promised for thousands of years…

According to Scripture, Christ will eventually return to the earth to save humanity and their eternal souls.

The Kingdom of Heaven will be on this plane of existence, not some ethereal realm.

In the Bible, in Matthew 24:4-8, Jesus tells His apostles, “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, ‘I am Christ’ and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

That these are the birth pangs of His return.

Look at what He said, and compare it to today’s events…

We’ve got rumors of war with China, Iran, and even Russia…

We have almost every country in the Middle East working to destroy Israel…

Africa just had a literal plague of locusts…

Utah just had an earthquake that registered 5.7 on the Richter scale…

We’ve got tornados in Tennessee…

And now, pestilence has raised it’s ugly had in the form the Wuhan virus.

But are we actually experiencing the culmination of Biblical prophecy?

Or is it all just a coincidence?

Is This It? Are These The End Times?

It’s possible that all of these terrible things been happening for millennia – and we’ve only just begun paying attention because it gets thrust into our faces on a daily basis.

The thing is…

We wouldn’t know.

Jesus Himself said in Mark 13: 31-33, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. But as for that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on your guard and stay alert! For you do not know when the appointed time will come.…”

Atheists dismiss it as fantasy…

Jews don’t believe that Jesus was the Messiah…

Muslims have their own version of the apocalypse…

And it doesn’t matter.

All that matters is that, in times like these, we can’t act the selfish beings we have become. Instead, we need to reconnect with the compassion that the Good Book tried to teach us.

That is the lesson that the Bible and its authors have tried to show us, but man tried to put his own meanings to their words.

Love each other…

Be kind to each other…

That is what the Book is about – and there’s NEVER been a better time to put these lessons into practice.

So whether the end of the world comes tomorrow or in a thousand years, it’s never too soon to start loving one another.

“The man-made apocalypse we are facing was not written in the stars; it is a notion that grew like mold from the texts of a few frustrated, feather-wielding monks.” – Anohni
