After the end of the Cold War, Glasnost, and Perestroika, Americans were led to believe that Russia would be different once removed from their communist ideologies…

But here we are, almost 30 years since the fall of the Soviet Union, and still, Russia is a HUGE thorn in America’s side.

Under the rule of Vladimir Putin, Russia has reignited many of those same Cold War flames that were burning the world all those decades ago.

Putin operates Russia in much the same way he was taught to handle things in the KGB – with an iron fist and with zero tolerance for any kind of dissent.

He and Trump seem to have no love lost between them…

Which makes it extremely funny that the Left keeps thinking that our president is “Putin’s puppet” when it’s absolutely clear that these two men would never see eye-to-eye.

They come from different worlds…

Both have risen beyond where anybody believed they could to become the leaders of their respective countries – and much like the two big kids on the playground – Trump and Putin do their best to keep away from each other.

One Step Closer to WAR?

However, it seems that Putin is about to step on Trump’s toes, as he may have just crossed the line and brought our two countries closer to a confrontation…

And he chose to do so in one of the most hotly-contested areas in the world.

In what can only be described as an escalation of tensions between the US and Russia, Putin just claimed the ports of Bandar-e-Bushehr and Chabahar as military bases for the Russian Navy, including warships and nuclear subs…

Not only that…

But Putin has also put an airbase near Bandar-e-Bushehr that, as of right now, is home to almost 60 Russian fighter jets.

It’s being disguised as a military exercise…

But we all know what is going on here. With tensions rising between Iran and the US, this is posturing by Russia hoping to intimidate the United States and our allies from protecting other ships in the region – especially the very dangerous and turbulent Strait of Hormuz.

Russia is basically playing the role of Iran’s bodyguard…

Unfortunately, it’s a dangerous game to play, as it could lead the entire world down the road to disaster.

A Slippery Slope

This is how something small can lead to something BIG…

Besides, the possibility of World War III breaking out isn’t the only potential problem.

Say war CAN be avoided for now…

The fact that Russia can now dictate what goes in and out of the Strait of Hormuz has given them control of billions upon billions of oil in the region!

Does Iran think Russia is just going to leave when Iran doesn’t need them anymore?

This is their MO!

The gradual roll-out of their military capability in a country has been Putin’s tried and tested tactic for YEARS – they’re able to leverage security or support as a way to create a foothold in the country.

Ask Syria how that worked out…

This is a bad move for Iran…

But it could be an even worse move for the world if people aren’t careful.

It doesn’t take much for this scenario to end very badly…

“Even during the years of the Cold War, the intense confrontation between the Soviet Union and the United States, we always avoided any direct clash between our civilians and, most certainly, between our military.” – Vladimir Putin
