It’s July 4th week. It is a time when we all are supposed to set aside differences and celebrate the independence of our great nation.

However, there are some on the Left who hate American so much that they are eager to use the holiday as a day to display their antipathy towards the country.

On Monday, The New York Times produced a video that proclaimed that America isn’t great.

Now the former San Francisco third-string quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, is using the occasion to make an anti-American statement.

Colin Kaepernick Disrespects the Flag … Again

As you may recall, former National Football League quarterback Colin Kaepernick did severe damage to the NFL, when he began kneeling for the national anthem before the opening kickoff.

He was protesting police brutality or something … it has never been exactly clear what he was protesting, he is not the most articulate person.

His kneeling started a controversy that would eventually include many more players in the protest.

Kaepernick drew praise from social justice warriors and the media. He was featured prominently on magazine covers and received awards for his supposed courage.

The anthem protestors hit a climax when President Trump urged the owners to fire players who disrespect the American flag. Trump said, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when someone disrespects our flag to say, get that son of a bitch off the field right now. He’s fired. He’s fired.”

Teams around the league bonded together to protest the president’s comments. They kneeled for the anthem locking arms as they did.

How powerful. They really showed them.

However, ratings for NFL games declined drastically that season in large part do to the anti-flag protests.

It isn’t surprising that the ratings declined, because it turns out that if you disrespect the flag, Americans are going to tune out.

Last season the ratings rebounded because there were far fewer flag protests.

Surely, no one would pay Kaepernick for disrespecting America, right?

Enter Nike.

Nike signed Kaepernick to a lucrative contract to endorse their products. The marketing campaign slogan was titled: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”

How brave of him. Apparently sacrificing includes getting an endorsement deal worth millions of dollars.

If that is sacrifice than sign me up.

Now Kaepernick has forced Nike to pull a shoe that features the original American flag from stores.

What a bunch of cowards. They are letting a washed-up quarterback dictate what they are allowed to produce.

Kaepernick reportedly told Nike that the shoes are “offensive.”

I kid you not.

The Wall Street Journal reported, “After images of the shoe were posted online, Mr. Kaepernick, a Nike endorser, reached out to company officials saying that he and others felt the Betsy Ross flag is an offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery. Some users on social media responded to posts about the shoe with similar concerns. Mr. Kaepernick declined to comment.”

Grow up, man.

Every time he is offended you goes whining to some powerful company about it.

Not to mention it is petty. The man that is offended by the original American flag, has no problem showing respect for Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, to deranged mass murderers.

But the American flag is offensive?

Kaepernick has to pull a publicity stunt every few months to remain relevant because his NFL career is over, and he has nothing going for him otherwise.

Nike just let a nobody dictate how they do business. The social media mob wins again.
