Florida, the beacon of hope for America, is standing up for education by opposing the indoctrination of students who attend public schools.
Instead of caving to the radical Left by allowing students to be taught that white people are inherently racist, among a wide range of preposterous progressive allegations, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis that his state’s education curriculum will “expressly exclude” Critical Race Theory.
DeSantis unveiled a proposal denouncing racist propaganda, but encouraging civics education during a press conference in Naples, Florida on Wednesday.
“There is no room in our classrooms for things like Critical Race Theory,” said DeSantis. “Teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money.”

However, there is room for educating students on the “foundational concepts” of how the U.S. government and elections work.
To incentivize teachers to become proficient in the curriculum, DeSantis’ plan will give teachers who complete the training a “Florida Civics Seal of Excellence” as well as a $3,000 bonus.
“Under this initiative the department will partner with national leaders in civics professional development to provide a series of modules and micro-credentials that any Florida teacher will be eligible to attain,” the governor said.
The civics education program will be funded by a $106 million dollar boost in pandemic-related federal funding for Florida schools stemming from the $1.9 trillion stimulus package signed into law last week.
“A high-quality education begins with a high-quality curriculum, which is why we’re going to be laser-focused on developing the best possible civics instruction standards,” DeSantis vowed during the press conference.
He added, “Florida civics curriculum will incorporate foundational concepts with the best materials, and it will expressly exclude unsanctioned narratives like critical race theory and other unsubstantiated theories.”
The governor expressed how important it is for all Americans to learn and “exercise the duties of citizenship” because “Having graduating kids with the foundational knowledge to understand what makes America unique is really, really important.”
DeSantis hopes Florida will become a “leader in the development and implementation of a world-class civics education.”
Although Biden rescinded Trump’s patriotic education initiative, DeSantis is stepping up to the plate to guarantee Floridian students are well educated in the processes of the U.S. government.
