I don’t know what world New York Governor Andrew Cuomo lives in, but it’s definitely not the same reality as the rest of us.
Cuomo is now denying any possibility that his early policy of placing COVID-19-positive patients into nursing homes with a susceptible elderly population had any effect on the high coronavirus death toll in New York State.
Not only is he adamantly denying the accusation, but he went so far as to call it a baseless “conspiracy theory.”
Perhaps the only thing keeping this story grounded in reality is the fact that the Democrat governor is currently under investigation by the Department of Justice for this alleged crime against humanity.
At least that’s undeniable.
But, like every seasoned Democrat does, Cuomo went on progressive talk show “The View” to deny any wrongdoing and shift all blame onto President Trump who he says is “responsible for every death in New York from COVID.”
During Thursday’s show, host Sunny Hostin asked Cuomo to explain why his state is under fire for an executive order that directed nursing homes to accept patients infected with the coronavirus, which may have led “to the death of more than 6,000 seniors”.
Cuomo immediately quipped back by criticizing the Trump Administration accusing them of doing “a terrible job on COVID from day one” before he admitted that “the truth is” a lot of people did die in New York nursing homes.
Attempting to justify the high death toll he said, but “It’s not just New York, it’s all the Democratic states.” Also claiming New York has one of the lowest percentages of deaths in nursing homes and furthermore, by state law, no nursing home can accept a patient they don’t think they can properly care for.
Blaming everyone but himself, Cuomo concluded that, regardless, the entire thing is simply a “conspiracy” that has “no factual basis.”
“But yes, people in nursing homes died, and they’re playing politics with the issue, which I think is especially cruel because people who lost loved ones in a nursing home, they’re dealing with it, and now they also have to deal with the confusion or the pain of maybe government did this,” he said.
My question for the Leftist governor is: which one is it? Are the nursing home COVID deaths real or a conspiracy theory? Both can’t be true at once.
And if Cuomo admits that many people did succumb to the virus in nursing homes located primarily in Democrat-run states, then it’s impossible that it’s simply a “conspiracy” that’s all Trump’s fault.
It’s time that crooked governors like Cuomo who don’t have the people’s best interest in mind go to trial and are at the very least removed from office. Hopefully, the DOJ’s open investigation into the matter brings justice to the families of those who unnecessarily died under Cuomo’s leadership.
