And so the plot thickens…
There is more evidence that COVID-19 was leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China.
A new twist in the story of the coronavirus’ origins has emerged, this time involving bats infecting a group of miners YEARS before COVID first became a pandemic.
The Wall Street Journal reported, “In April 2012, six miners here fell sick with a mysterious illness after entering the mine to clear bat guano. Three of them died.
Chinese scientists from the Wuhan Institute of Virology were called in to investigate and, after taking samples from bats in the mine, identified several new coronaviruses.
Now, unanswered questions about the miners’ illness, the viruses found at the site and the research done with them have elevated into the mainstream an idea once dismissed as a conspiracy theory: that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, might have leaked from a lab in Wuhan, the city where the first cases were found in December 2019.
The lab researchers thus far haven’t provided full and prompt answers, and there have been discrepancies in some information they have released. That has led to demands by leading scientists for a deeper investigation into the Wuhan institute and whether the pandemic virus could have been in its labs and escaped.”
Add this to the recently uncovered information about three Wuhan lab researchers being hospitalized in November of 2019, and the lab leak theory no longer seems to be a conspiracy on the fringes.
The Wall Street Journal also reported that “Three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology became sick enough in November 2019 that they sought hospital care, according to a previously undisclosed U.S. intelligence report that could add weight to growing calls for a fuller probe of whether the COVID-19 virus may have escaped from the laboratory.
The details of the reporting go beyond a State Department fact sheet, issued during the final days of the Trump administration, which said that several researchers at the lab, a center for the study of coronaviruses and other pathogens, became sick in autumn 2019 “with symptoms consistent with both Covid-19 and common seasonal illness.”
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has sounded the alarms repeatedly on the Wuhan lab origin theory, and wrote in February in the Wall Street Journal that, “The evidence that the virus came from Wuhan is enormous, though largely circumstantial, and most signs point to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, or WIV, as the source of Covid-19. In America, concern about the site is now broad and bipartisan.”
All signs point to a lab leak, regardless of what the WHO or China says. If we have learned anything from the pandemic, is that you can’t trust experts, and you can’t trust China…ever.
