Modern America is enduring a spiritual war that has been slowly manifesting itself year after year throughout Trump’s presidency. Now, amid the George Floyd “protests,” the war seems to have heightened to a level we haven’t seen for decades since the L.A. riots.
While it’s easy to sympathize with the people who are protesting for what they believe to be racial injustice, it’s impossible to sympathize with people who viciously vandalize and destroy businesses – let alone churches. Places of worship are supposed to be one of the few things to be left sacred. Churches are where people go to become better and get right with God.
Why on earth would anyone want to burn that down?
There’s only one answer: hatred for anything that’s good.
Over the weekend, churches from California to Florida were burned by unknown perpetrators and statues of religiously significant figures were desecrated. On Saturday, one man rammed his vehicle into the lobby a Florida Catholic church, then set it on fire while churchgoers were worshipping inside for mass.
Please pray an act of reparation as Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the FSSP's community in Ocala, Florida, was intentionally set on fire after a man drove a vehicle through the front doors of the church. The suspect has been apprehended by police. pic.twitter.com/H3KQgSU0QC

In Boston, criminals burned a statue of the Virgin Mary at Saint Peter Parish Church. Similarly, in New York, someone vertically spray-painted the word “IDOL” on a Virgin Mary statue outside of a Catholic church. Witnesses say it was a masked woman who vandalized the statue before running off.
While the identities of the criminals remain unknown, there are direct ties from their sudden behavior to cultural figures like Shaun King.
Activist and BLM radical Shaun King has shown that he is clearly opposed to Jesus as depicted in common Christian imagery. Less than three weeks ago, he wrote on Twitter, “Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down. They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been. In the Bible, when the family of Jesus wanted to hide, and blend in, guess where they went? EGYPT! Not Denmark. Tear them down.”
King continued on Twitter, “Yes. All murals and stained-glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down. They are a gross form white supremacy. Created as tools of oppression. Racist propaganda. They should all come down.”

They are a gross form white supremacy.
Created as tools of oppression.
They should all come down.

Is it really any surprise that people are vandalizing statues and desecrating churches that he demonizes and depicts as symbols of racism? There is definitely a direct correlation here.
Granted, it’s fairly obvious that Jesus was probably not white. He was likely more tan or brown, given that he was a Middle Eastern Jew—but that still doesn’t make him black. The fact is, we really don’t know exactly what skin tone Jesus was, so what does it matter? Either way, tearing down a statue or burning down a church is no way to protest a white-looking Jesus. Those actions directly reflect a hatred for the church itself, and so do Shaun King’s comments.
The Left has proven themselves to be highly critical of the Christian and Catholic faiths as well as anyone who adheres to Judaism. Throughout the lockdowns, we saw Democrats continuously discriminate against churches and synagogues, with liberal governments being the worse offenders. Most egregious is the case of DeBlasio forcing New York City synagogues to shut their doors, although there are many examples.
But now that AG Barr dropped the hammer on Democrat governors for violating Americans’ religious liberties, the Left is coming after people of faith via race war. It’s time to come after these organizations, like BLM, and individuals who are acting like terrorists by setting churches on fire, threatening people’s lives, and desecrating statues. We cannot allow this to continue in America.
