First responders should be non-partisan when it comes to their job…

What they do in their personal lives is their business, but when it comes to the job, they shouldn’t have a dog in the fight.

Why?

Because the bias could affect how well or to what extent they do their job.

You’d think that wouldn’t be the case…

But there are plenty of instances where people have let that bias dictate just how far they’d be willing to go to help the people they’re paid to protect.

However, Tim Hagel, the police chief of Thousand Oaks, California, doesn’t mind letting his partisan flag fly…

He’s a TRUE blue Democrat and doesn’t care who knows about it.

Which is fine – choose whatever side of the aisle you believe aligns with your values…

But when you let that bias interfere with your job or what you’ll do as a representative of your government, something needs to be done.

Shameful Act Of PARTISAN Politics

What Hagel recently did was disgusting…

He decided that a charity event honoring a fallen officer just didn’t warrant his police department’s participation after learning that the organizer of the event invited conservatives, Republicans, and Trump supporters as well.

Yes…

The police chief canceled his department’s participation in the charity flag football event just because he doesn’t like conservatives.

The event was supposed to honor fallen police officer Ron Helus, who, you may remember, was one of 13 victims killed in the mass shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in November of last year. Helus, who was on duty at the time, ran into the restaurant in response to the sound of gunfire and was killed while trying to heroically save others.

Helus died a TRUE hero, running into the bar when many others in his situation wouldn’t have…

Now, his family could use all the help they can get, hence the charity flag football game held in his honor.

Apparently, Chief Hagel doesn’t see it that way.

Mike Randall, VP of The Fallen Officers Foundation, the organization behind the event, told the press that Hagel promised to pull support if any conservatives were invited to take part in the event.

“He basically said over and over in the conversation, ‘This is not Trump country, that slogan ‘Make America Great’ is not favorable, popular, within 1,200 square miles,’ that we don’t want Republicans here. I could not believe it.”

And as if that wasn’t enough, Randall said Hagel told him, “‘The only thing,’ and I quote, ‘the only thing you [could have done to make] this worse, Mike, was to invite Dick Cheney and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.’”

Hagel threated Randall that, if anybody other than local Liberals and Leftists were invited to the event, he would pull his department out…

And when Randall refused, Hagel did as he promised – he pulled his department’s support from the event.

“He goes, ‘Yeah, this ain’t gonna work for us,’ I said, ‘You’re not gonna support this with the honor guard?’ And he goes, ‘No, we’re not bringing the honor guard. We’re not coming. We’re not going to be there, not supporting it’,” Randall said.

How terrible is that?

Is This How A Government Official Should Act?

This police chief let his personal politics dictate what the police department would and wouldn’t support.

Randall added, “Ron Helus was a true hero, and he saved lives that night. Did he run in and go, ‘Are you Republican or Democrat or independent, I need to know before I help you?’ No, he didn’t. You’ve messed with the wrong person, you’ve messed with the wrong founder, you’ve messed with the wrong foundation.”

Good on you, Mike…

THIS is what conservatives are dealing with…

This the type of bias and exclusion that is running rampant throughout Blue areas like California and New York.

THIS is why they can’t be allowed to win.

Tim Hagel should resign if he’s going to let his personal politics affect the job he does for the community.

The people deserve better…
