BLM is killing more Americans than they’re saving.
That is now an indisputable fact.
Well, undisputable if you believe in facts, numbers, and statistics. However, it is entirely disputable if you act on emotion, in which case you can argue this fact as much as your little heart desires.
But regardless of any emotions that some people may have about that statement, it doesn’t change the fact that numbers prove their emotions mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Travis Campbell, an economics Ph.D. candidate at the University of Massachusetts, recently published his findings in a pre-print study examining the impact of BLM protests on police use-of-force incidents…and it’s not good.
Campbell’s analysis (which is still undergoing peer-review) shows that cities with BLM protests had 15% – 20% FEWER police homicides than expected if the protests had not taken place, meaning 300 fewer police killings nationwide over five years.
That’s a LOT…
However, that’s not the most shocking part of Campbell’s study.
6,000 MORE Deaths Could Be Attributed To BLM
No, what’s really shocking is that, in an unpublished version, Campbell finds that cities with BLM protests also saw a 10% increase in murders overall – which, when extrapolating that out to real numbers, means that the BLM protests led to anywhere from 1,000 to 6,000 additional murders nationwide.
Campbell said his data suggests that BLM protests result in “less police effort and less proactive policing,” which could explain both the decrease in police killings and the overall increase in murders.
He also said that this trend was a “pretty strong indicator of a reduction in the quantity of policing,” either because fewer crimes are being reported or because police are less likely to respond to calls fast enough to be proactive in stopping the crime.
But this isn’t surprising, is it?
When you vilify those who are tasked at protecting us, there’re going to be consequences.
And in this case, the “cure” seems to be worse than the disease, because people are dying than before the rise of BLM.
Of course, some advocates of BLM say that this is a good thing, that there are different implications when a normal citizen kills somebody and when a police officer does – but then, it’s really NOT about the kills.
It’s about the perception of a racist law enforcement system.
However, if this were the case, wouldn’t MORE people of color be killed every year than whites?
How We Know The System ISN’T Racist
If this were a racist system, why isn’t this the case?
Statistics show that more white—both armed and unarmed—people are killed every year by cops.
So, if the system were racist, wouldn’t that number be inverted?
Again, you can’t argue with numbers…but Liberals ALWAYS try.
They’ll tell you that the numbers aren’t “equal” because the black community makes up only 13% of the American population…
Yet, these people also ignore the fact that the 13% of the population commits 52% of all robberies and 51% of all murders in the United States.
To be honest, with the amount of crime that is committed by such a small segment of the population, it’s surprising that the number of black people killed by cops every year isn’t higher. Thank God it’s not…
However, that should show you that the few incidents that happen every year really are few and far between.
BLM was a good idea because yes, black lives DO matter. To say the opposite would be a lie.
However, the idea has been perverted and it’s now PROVEN to be doing more harm than good…
But will anybody listen?
But that’s where we are as a country nowadays.
God help us…
