“No Amendment In The Constitution Is Absolute”

The Scoop: Biden reared his head from the White House basement last week to push along his most consistent agenda item: gun control.

He directed federal agencies to come up with “guidance” to restrict gun use and manufacturing, and also nominated an anti-gun advocate to lead the “AFT” (or “ATF,” as cognitively stable Americans call it). However, I’m happy to report that the president was more talk than action.

Thankfully, any real gun control legislation is highly unlikely to pass with 50 Republican and 2 Independent Senators.

But in pushing his radical cronies anti-gun agenda, Biden made what will likely be the most terrifying statement of his presidency.

“No amendment in the Constitution is absolute,” he said, also calling the Second Amendment a “phony argument.”

The more I think about it, the more alarmed I become at the thought that we have a sitting U.S. president who openly disregards the Constitution, which is the “supreme law” in our country according to Article VI Section 2.

But of course, if Biden respected the laws our country is founded on, he would know that.

What Exactly Is Biden Doing About Guns?

Even though new gun laws would only restrict law-abiding citizens and do nothing to stop criminals who find illegal ways to obtain them, Biden announced a slew of actions his administration plan to take to crack down on gun owners in response to the series of recent mass shootings.

Predictably, the president completely ignores the reality that criminals don’t follow the law.

Here are the several actions Biden is taking in hopes of limiting gun ownership:

  • Directing the DOJ to propose a rule that would prevent people from obtaining “ghost gun” kits that allow people to build their own guns without a serial number, restrict stabilizing pistol braces that allow handguns to be fired one-handed, and come up with a plan to combat community violence.
  • Requesting the Justice Department create guidance for states on “red flag” laws and issue a report on gun trafficking.
  • Appointed gun control advocate David Chipman to the ATF.

Executive Action Alert!

Here goes Biden’s first attack on the structure of the Supreme Court as we know it.

The president signed one executive order last week titled “Executive Order on the Establishment of the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States” to start the debate on Supreme Court reform.

Biden’s order establishes a presidential commission which serves “to provide an analysis of the principal arguments in the contemporary public debate for and against Supreme Court reform,” that surveys “the reform debate; the Court’s role in the Constitutional system; the length of service and turnover of justices on the Court; the membership and size of the Court; and the Court’s case selection, rules, and practices.”

Clearly, this is a retaliatory and preventative move after Trump nominated and confirmed hundreds of conservative federal judges as well as three Supreme Court Justices in just one term.

Of course, the Democrats are blaming Trump for the fact that Obama failed to appoint judges to fill vacancies existing during his term when he had the chance.

Now that Trump seized on the important opportunity for the trajectory of the country, which Democrats neglected, they want to explore packing the Supreme Court so they can get a turn too.

The tit-for-tat move, like Biden’s statement on the Constitution, would only undermine the authority and importance of the Supreme Court’s influence on our nation’s laws.
