At the very beginning of the current elections season, when the DNC’s pool of candidates contained over 20 presidential hopefuls, we were told by all-knowing Leftist political pundits that Joe Biden was a moderate Democrat. When compared to radicals like Bernie Sanders, Biden was harmless. He was loveable, levelheaded, middle-of-the-road Uncle Joe and he was going to restore decency and balance to the White House.

Well, those pundits were dead wrong with their characterization. In addition to proving that he’s anything but moderate, Biden has been having a rough go of it lately. He has been accused of sexual assault, his mental capacity is diminishing, and a recently-leaked recording of a call he had with the former president of Ukraine makes it sounds like he is participating in quid pro quo and political extortion.

And on top of all of that, ever since he emerged as the DNC’s new frontrunner, Biden has been making every effort to prove that he’s just as radical as his former competitors. Now, instead of appealing to independent voters, Biden is trying to win over the wing of the Democratic Party that supported Bernie Sanders, and he’s assembling a dream team of radicals to make it happen.

Just recently, he appointed socialist Congresswoman Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez to advise him on climate change policy. I am not kidding.

Left-wing news site The Intercept joyfully reported the following:

Jayapalsponsor of the Medicare for All bill in the House, is co-chair of the health care task force. Ocasio-Cortez, sponsor of the Green New Deal bill in the House, is co-chair of the climate change task force. Nelson, president of the Association of Flight Attendants and a champion of organized labor, is co-chair of the economy task force…

It isn’t only the impressive trio of AOC, Jayapal, and Nelson who feature on these panels. Also on the health care task force is Abdul El-Sayed, who ran an insurgent campaign for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination in Michigan and is the co-author of a book on Medicare for All. Also on the economy task force is Stephanie Kelton, a pioneer of Modern Monetary Theory and author of a forthcoming book on deficit hysteria. Also on the climate change task force is Varshini Prakash, executive director and co-founder of the Sunrise Movement — the progressive group behind the Green New Deal that gave Biden’s presidential climate plan an “F” rating in 2019. Meanwhile, Heather Gautney, an activist-scholar and top Sanders adviser, is co-chair of the education task force.

AOC, of course, is the genius behind the Green New Deal, which would fundamentally destroy the American system, and possibly the world economy, forever. The plan calls for the elimination of all fossil fuel energy in the United States, including oil, natural gas, and nuclear energy. It contains no explanation as to how the entire country will be able to run off of wind, solar, and hydropower. Right off the bat, the Yabba-Dabba-Do Club is calling for the dismantling of the American economy. Most of our energy is produced using fossil fuels, and millions of jobs would be eliminated along with the production of those sources of energy.

The Green New Deal would also eliminate all travel by cars, planes, boats, and trucks. This is where the Flintstone-mobile will come in handy. Everyone can use their feet to push the car along. At least that will help reduce obesity in the country.

But if this exercise doesn’t reduce obesity, AOC has another plan. According to the bill, the government will provide “healthy food” to everyone and eliminate all meat products, ensuring there are no more cow farts to release methane gas. What does this have to do with fighting climate change? Good question.

When the Green New Deal was originally released, it was widely ridiculed even within the Democratic Party, and yet somehow many of the ideas it contained have managed to sneak their way into the political mainstream. And now, with AOC chosen to oversee and implement Biden’s climate agenda (assuming he wins, that is), the Green New Deal is on the verge of being fully implemented.

In addition to AOC, Biden has also promised to put failed senate and presidential candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke in charge of his gun control agenda. During his now-terminated presidential campaign, O’Rourke made aggressive gun control policies his main talking point. At the time, his statements about gun confiscation seemed radical even by Democrat standards (“Hell yes, we’re coming for your AR-15!”), but now, just like the GND, O’Rourke’s may soon become the law of the land.

With Biden also potentially eyeing former political rival Kamala Harris or failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams for his vice-presidential nomination, it’s become clear that he’s surrounding himself with the most radical elements of the Democratic Party. While it might not make him popular among independents, it can still make him dangerous come November.

The honest truth is that, for all his successes, President Trump is still very much beatable. His poll numbers aren’t as high as they should be given his job performance, and while national polls this long before an election aren’t always good predictive tools, they do still matter in the grand scheme of things.

I believe Trump will defeat Biden once the campaign heats up, but we can’t take that for granted. Elections come down to presidential candidates convincing centrist independents to vote for them. That’s why it’s puzzling that Biden is shifting so far Leftward and not towards the center. It proves he is an empty vessel who has no core convictions. He’s easily malleable, toeing the Party line just like everyone else. He doesn’t have a backbone and is willing to put the wolves in charge of the henhouse.

On second thought, go ahead Joe. Let the socialists take over your campaign. We’re more likely to get four more years of Trump if you do.
