In the presidential race this year, there is one particular candidate with a decades-long history of making racially insensitive comments and suppressing minorities…and that man isn’t Donald Trump. The media is doing cleanup in aisle 7 for their preferred candidate, Joe Biden, but the list of his racial comments continues to grow by the day.

Imagine the hell that would ensue in the mainstream media if Donald J. Trump had uttered the following statements over the course of several decades:

  • “Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle, the jungle being a racial jungle with tensions having built so high that it is going to explode at some point. We have got to make some move on this.”
  • “You got the first mainstream African American [Barack Obama] who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
  • “We should challenge students in these schools. We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”
  • “In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.”
  • “Well, I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

As an expert researcher, I did a quick comprehensive search of the media’s coverage of Biden’s recent racist comments (and by extensive research, I mean I did a quick Google search) and the Google News feed listed only four stories on the first page from the mainstream media that had headlines pertaining to the subject.

The headlines read as follows: “Biden risks alienating young Black voters after race remarks.” “After Joe Biden’s comments on diversity in Black community, some worry blunders could impact support.” “Biden: Latino community is diverse, ‘unlike the African American community.” “Biden seeks to clarify comment that Latino community is diverse, ‘unlike the African American community.’”

Of those stories, three out of the four had a “yeah… but” theme. By that, I mean they reported the remarks but then went into full spin mode and claimed that Biden’s comments either taken out of context or interviewed people who said that they weren’t pleased with the comments but said that they are forgivable because Trump is worse.

That is, with the exception of Politico, who played the story straight and just reported the facts. Politico reported on Biden’s latest comments: “‘Unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly diverse attitudes about different things,’ Biden said, ‘you go to Florida, you find a very different attitude about immigration than you do in Arizona. So it’s a very diverse community.’”

But only moments after his campaign responded to POLITICO on his interview, Biden again contrasted Latino and Black Americans—this time explicitly on the topic of national and cultural origin.

“We can build a new administration that reflects the full diversity of our nation. The full diversity of the Latino communities,’ Biden said. ‘Now when I mean full diversity, unlike the African American community, many other communities, you’re from everywhere. From Europe. From the tip of South America, all the way to our border and Mexico and in the Caribbean. And different backgrounds, different ethnicities, but all Latinos.’”

Black Democrats were silent when it came to Biden’s racially ignorant comments as well.

ABC News reported, “There are several Black members of Congress, all Democrats, who are immigrants or are the children of immigrants. Most didn’t respond to ABC News’ requests for comment on Biden’s statements. Staff for Rep. G.K. Butterfield, D-NC, whose father was from Bermuda, declined to comment on Biden’s statements.

Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nev., whose mother is from Trinidad and Tobago, endorsed Biden’s presidential bid in February. He believes Biden’s comments were misconstrued.”

The lame-stream media and most Democrats have employed an ostrich strategy with regards to Joe Biden. They are willing to stick their heads in the sand and pretend everything’s fine whenever their favored candidate says something utterly stupid, racist, and incoherent. The Democrats and their media allies’ narrative reigns supreme: Donald Trump is a racist, and unlike Trump, Joe Biden cares about black Americans. Any comments he makes to the contrary are just a distraction to be ignored.

But just imagine if the shoe were on the other foot…

That should tell you everything you need to know about politics in America today.
