“Sleepy Joe Biden” appears to be getting sleepier by the day. He is a self-proclaimed “gaffe machine.” At least he owns the label.

After a campaign full of blunders, the former vice president appears to be losing his mental faculties. He looks like a man that is past his prime and is incapable of serving as the leader of the free world.

Biden is only a few years older than President Trump, but Biden appears FAR older. Biden looks older, sounds older, and is unable to recall basic details.

Biden’s Latest Gaffes

He recently claimed that Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were killed in the late 1970s (when in fact they were killed in 1968).

Recently, at the Iowa State Fair, he told the crowd that “we choose truth over facts.”

That’s a bit of a headscratcher. You can’t have truth without facts. That should be basic logic. However, this is Joe Biden we are talking about.

At an event hosted by the Asian and Latino coalition, he referred to former British Prime Minister Theresa May as “Margaret Thatcher.” Thatcher WAS a former British PM, but she left office in the 90s and died in 2013.

At least Biden was kind of close on that one.

After an appearance at a gun-control forum hosted by Moms Demand Action, Biden told reporters that students from Parkland, Florida—who survived the mass shooting that killed 17 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School— “came up to see me when I was Vice-President.”

That’s pretty unlikely, seeing as the shooting took place in 2017, a year after Biden left office. Unless Joe has a time machine, that probably didn’t happen.

Biden had another recent gaffe in which he said, “Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”

Oops. That was a bigoted slip of the tongue. If it had been President Trump saying that, the media would have lost their minds and talked about it for days. They would also probably call for the 25th Amendment to be used to remove Trump from office.

The Left Is Nervous

Some on the Left have started to whisper about his mental condition and his long-term viability as a potential challenger to President Trump. He is even being criticized for his handling of racial issues.

The left-wing magazine The New Yorker recently published a piece about Biden’s gaffes. The author of the piece, Eric Lach, acknowledged Biden’s poor handling of race relations.

Lach wrote: “Biden has a history of talking about race in ways that make him look, at best, like an old and out-of-touch white guy. At an Upper East Side fund-raiser, in June, he spoke warmly of his days in the Senate working alongside segregationists. ‘At least there was some civility,’ he said.”

Despite all the aforementioned blunders, Biden still holds a sizeable lead over his Democratic rivals for the nomination.

If Biden does get the nomination, the Democrats should be worried. Will Biden be able to withstand the scrutiny of a grueling campaign cycle against a prize-fighter like Donald Trump?

That is what Democrats have to ask themselves before they nominate a man that appears to be way out of his depth.

In the meantime, maybe “Sleepy Joe” should go take a nap. He clearly needs one.
