Joe Biden had a rough day on Monday. The Biden gaffe machine was turned up to full blast and he once again showed that he is in cognitive decline.
Fox News reported the following:
“A recent Gallup poll taken Sept. 14-28 made headlines after it revealed that 56 percent of voters said they were better off now than they were four years ago. Just 32 percent of them said they were worse off.
During an interview with Cincinnati’s WKRC Local 12 on Monday, reporter Kyle Inskeep cited the Gallup poll and asked the Democratic nominee, “Why should people who feel that they’re better off today under a Trump administration vote for you?”
‘Well if they think that, they probably shouldn’t,’ Biden responded.”
That is an interesting campaign strategy. Telling voters not to vote for him kind of defeats to purpose of campaigning, doesn’t it?
Instead of trying to respectfully disagree with the statement and making an argument for why he believes that the country isn’t better off, Biden decided to bang his metaphorical highchair because the voters disagreed with his views. It’s the equivalent of child on a playground who loses a game of basketball and says that he is taking his ball and going home.
But wait, there were more gaffes. Biden once again forgot what position he was running for. Fox News reported that “earlier in the day, the former VP repeated the gaffe at a campaign event where he accidentally said that he was running as a ‘proud Democrat for the Senate’ instead of the presidency.”
In Biden’s defense, he served in the Senate for four decades and was there for so long that he probably thinks he still serves in the Senate. Biden is the poster boy for why the country needs term limits. Biden is a swamp creature, and is in his natural habitat in Washington DC. He has been in government all but the last four years since 1972!
There was one final gaffe on Monday. The Fox News report continued:
“He also appeared to have forgotten Mitt Romney’s name while speaking with reporters about whether Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s faith should be questioned during her SCOTUS confirmation.
‘You may remember, I got in trouble when we were running against the senator who was a Mormon, the governor, OK? And I took him on,’ Biden said. ‘No one’s faith should be questioned.’”
That Mormon? Really, Joe? Imagine if President Trump would have referred to Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib as “that Muslim.” The media would lose their minds and every headline in every news outlet would lead with that quote. However, Joe Biden is allowed to identify a candidate by his religion just to cover up the fact that he can’t remember his name.
Democrats have a long history of deriding Americans and insulting their intelligence, so this phenomenon is not unique to Joe Biden.
In 2008, Barack Obama made a derisive remark about red-state conservatives. Obama was then a candidate for president. Obama said, “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion … they show antipathy to people who aren’t like them.”
In 2016, Hillary Clinton made her famous “basket of deplorables” statement. She said, “You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”
Joe Biden is his own worst opponent. The more he talks, the more he gives ammunition for President Trump to attack him. Biden is perfectly capable of self-destructing and blowing the election. All Trump has to do is step back and let it happen.
Let’s hope that Biden keeps being Biden.
