“War is hell.”

That’s the adage that everybody brings up when talking about a conflict.

However, never in a million years would I have thought that adage would apply to an ice cream manufacturer and the nation of Israel…but here we are.

On July 19th, the corporate higher-up at notoriously woke ice cream purveyors Ben & Jerry’s released a statement that set off a war of words between a business and a country.

Ben & Jerry’s said, “Ben & Jerry’s Will End Sales of Our Ice Cream in the Occupied Palestinian Territory

We believe it is inconsistent with our values for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to be sold in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). We also hear and recognize the concerns shared with us by our fans and trusted partners.

We have a longstanding partnership with our licensee, who manufactures Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in Israel and distributes it in the region. We have been working to change this, and so we have informed our licensee that we will not renew the license agreement when it expires at the end of next year.

Although Ben & Jerry’s will no longer be sold in the OPT, we will stay in Israel through a different arrangement. We will share an update on this as soon as we’re ready.”

The Ben & Jerry’s announcement followed pro-Palestinian pressure over the company’s business in Israel and in Jewish settlements in the West Bank…

The ice cream company said it would not renew the license when it expires at the end of next year, announcing instead that its brand would stay in Israel under a different arrangement, without sales in the West Bank, among areas where Palestinians seek statehood.

Ben & Jerry’s Questionable Move

But this woke announcement isn’t sitting too well with the Israeli people.

Prime minister Naftali Bennett said he has spoken with Unilever CEO Alan Jope about the “glaring anti-Israel measure” and said he would react aggressively against any boycotts.

In a statement from Bennett’s office, the PM said, “From Israel’s standpoint, this action has severe consequences, legal and otherwise, and it will move aggressively against any boycott measure targeting civilians.”

This is a terrible idea by Ben & Jerry’s parent company, Unilever…

Even former Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu got in on the issue, tweeting out, “Now we Israelis know which ice cream NOT to buy”

And he’s right…

But it’s not just Israelis who should reject woke ice cream from now on. The whole world should do the same.

Ben & Jerry’s Loss Is Haagen Dasz’s Gain!

Anyone who backs Israel is sure to look at this move as anti-Israel/anti-Semitic rather than pro-Palestine (even though there’s no such place as Palestine). For that reason, it’s sure to hurt Ben & Jerry’s sales around the globe…

This decision will have a far-reaching impact, but more for the company than for Israel. There has already been a backlash from Jewish-owned businesses that are announcing that they’re severing their relationship with the Vermont-based ice cream company.

This is going to be one of those ideas that’s going to cost people their jobs…

And it could cost the company MILLIONS in sales.

But that’s the free market at work, right?

Oh, well…There’s always Haagen Dazs.

If they were smart, they’d strike while the iron is hot and try to get exclusive rights to the areas that Ben & Jerry’s will be vacating.

Time to make some cash, Haagen Dazs!

Let this be a lesson to any company that wants to go woke…

Be careful – there are some lines you don’t want to cross!
