Now that the Left has overplayed their hand with Black and Hispanic Americans, it’s Asian Americans’ turn to be victimized by Democrats and the establishment media.

Atlanta police are currently investigating the motivations of the White man identified as Robert Aaron Long (21), responsible for three fatal spa shootings on Tuesday, reportedly killing eight people, including six Asian women, a White man, and a White woman. One Hispanic man is undergoing treatment at a local hospital after sustaining grave injuries.

It’s shocking that we live in an increasingly racist society where the ethnicity and race of those shot is relevant to the story. But being that the majority of the people killed at the scene were Asian women, the mainstream media is having a field day with the racial narrative on this story, as disgusting as that is.

Mainstream media reporters at outlets like CNN and The Washington Post are irresponsibly jumping the gun on assuming the mass shooting was motivated by race, despite the police having indicated it may have been caused by “sexual addiction,” although they are not ruling anything out yet.

“I don’t have a position,” Deputy Chief Charles Hampton said when asked by reporters during a press briefing on Thursday. “I’m only going to comment about our investigation…We’re not trying this case in public,” he added, according to the New York Post.

It doesn’t get clearer than that.

The fact is law enforcement does not know or claim to know what Long’s motivation was. All they know is what Long has told them, some of which they told the press.

However, Cherokee County Sheriff Frank Reynolds revealed, “We were able to interview him with the Atlanta police department and the FBI…He made indicators that he has some issues, potentially sexual addiction, and may have frequented some of these places in the past.”

“He has an issue that he considers a sex addiction and sees these locations as something that allows him to go to these places,” Captain Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said. “It’s a temptation for him that he wanted to eliminate.”

Based on what Atlanta law enforcement has said, it seems likely the shooting spree was motivated by a “sex addiction,” although it may also have been racially motivated.

As more details are made available on this case in the coming weeks, we may have more clarity as to whether this was the latest in a string of heightened attacks on Asian Americans amid the coronavirus pandemic—or if it was simply another unfortunate example of a mentally unstable person with a gun.
